Coroner Fix
An automated BepInEx preloader patch for Coroner (EliteMasterEric-Coroner) that silences the rampant console log spam:
[Warning: Coroner] Could not access dying player: Collider was not a player!
[Warning: Coroner] Could not access dying player: Index not assigned!
What It Fixes
In unpatched versions of Coroner (v2.4.1), whenever an enemy attacks or collides with any non-player object (doors, terrain, items, or other enemies), CauseOfDeathPatchState repeatedly emits LogWarning entries. Over a standard session, this floods LogOutput.log with tens or hundreds of thousands of false-positive warning lines, reducing disk performance and cluttering game logs.
This patch cleanly demotes all non-player collision warnings in CauseOfDeathPatchState to LogDebug, suppressing them from standard console and log output while preserving normal cause-of-death reporting functionality.
How It Works
This mod runs as a BepInEx preloader patcher. At game startup, it scans for Coroner.dll in BepInEx/plugins/ and applies the IL patch in-place before plugins are loaded into memory:
- Fully automated—no manual file decompilation required.
- Automatically creates a.orig backup of the unpatched binary.
- Survives mod updates and reinstalls.
Install & use Install: BepInEx plugin
- The archive from playbuff is the mod itself — usually a BepInEx plugin (a .dll or a plugin folder once unzipped).
- Recommended: use a community mod manager (such as r2modman) — pick this game, import the mod, and the manager sets up BepInEx and its dependencies for you.
- Manual route: install the BepInEx loader in the game folder, then drop the unzipped .dll or plugin folder into BepInEx/plugins/.
- Launch the game — the BepInEx console logs every plugin it loads; seeing this mod in the log means it is installed.
Mods with listed dependencies need those installed too, or they will not load. Options are usually changed in-game or in the plugin's config file.
Install these first, or the mod will not work:
