ConfigurableMoonPreview

v1.0.0·Updated 2026-08-06

Configurable moon descriptions and preview reels. Works with modded and vanilla moons.

About this mod Author’s original text

Makes configuring Moon reels and descriptions easy - Adds video reels for vanilla moons.

Uses reel assets from the discontinued Orbits mod by fiufki

For Mooners

Drop a file ending with.moonpreview.json into you package. It should look something like this:

{

"formatVersion": 1,

"packName": "My Moon Reels",

"entries": [

{

"scene": "Level27Trudge",

"description": "POPULATION: None\nCONDITIONS: Expansive, constant rain.\nHISTORY: Trudge is often confused with 61 March due to orbital patterns.\nFAUNA: Unknown",

"video": "reels/trudge.mp4"

}

]

}

If this mod is in an instance aswell as your moon, any reel and description overrides provided will be used. No dependancy needed.

Make sure to use H.264 mp4 encoded videos, as that is what Lethal Company's reel player prefers from what I could tell.

For Modpackers

Similar to above, but put your json file and videos into your config folder.

Install & use Install: BepInEx plugin

  1. The archive from playbuff is the mod itself — usually a BepInEx plugin (a .dll or a plugin folder once unzipped).
  2. Recommended: use a community mod manager (such as r2modman) — pick this game, import the mod, and the manager sets up BepInEx and its dependencies for you.
  3. Manual route: install the BepInEx loader in the game folder, then drop the unzipped .dll or plugin folder into BepInEx/plugins/.
  4. Launch the game — the BepInEx console logs every plugin it loads; seeing this mod in the log means it is installed.

Mods with listed dependencies need those installed too, or they will not load. Options are usually changed in-game or in the plugin's config file.

Dependencies

Install these first, or the mod will not work:
