SPOILERS AND LARGE LORE DUMP
Once a rich baroness, Valorie Islington had it all. Her family owned several mining facilities across the Thistle Nebula, so herself and her family were amongst the lucky few that could stay afloat during the great war between empires. Hidden away in a manor bunker on the exomoon 85 Rend, herself and her family could sustain their own business empire without being in harms way.
A family of great wealth, such as the Islington's, even had advanced security systems to protect and insulate them from the horrors from the outside world.
They survived and exploited those who were on the front line to ensure their comfort and safety, but times started to get tough. The Islington's started to realise that they needed others to survive, and that their existence was born from the fruits of the labour others have provided their empire. Their life of luxury was not an entitlement like they once thought.
However, there was an arrogance to the impending fate that was awaiting the Islington's as they became even more isolated. Valorie was however always a step ahead of everyone else. She searched frantically for a solution, hoping for a miracle. She couldn't bare the thought of facing her own mortality. It just wasn't a possibility for her. She tried to contact her families associates for help and resources to survive, no response. They had no way out. They reached levels of depravity they would only perform as entertainment for themselves and other elite. They ate the flesh of those that that were trapped with the family, in their eyes they were the most important ones to be saved. But they knew deep down time was running out for them.
Desperate and with their fate inevitable, Valorie looked towards less traditional means... Her family had bought and pillaged several mysterious items and artifacts of great value with some supposedly having paranormal properties. She found an old gramophone that was said to be cursed that contained and stored spirits, an old pocket eye glass that was said to be able to see into the spirit realm as well as an item that could potentially give Valorie the key to survival, but also more. Something that held the ability to dominate entire species, interact with the fabric of biology, harnessing and controlling it. An ancient dark magic book that nobody seems to know it's origins. Valorie heard fantastical stories about this book when she was growing up. Stories of slaughter, miracles and resurrection. These stories also came with a lesson, that those who used it got more than they bargained for. With the power it gifted, it came at a cost. A price that Valorie was willing to pay.
Upon the night of her father's passing from ill health, Valorie decided she had nothing to lose and took the magic book from her bedside drawer. She frantically flicked through the pages, trying to understand the ancient scripture and the attempts at translation below. She found what she wanted, an incantation that promised everlasting life and powers unknown to humankind. She began to recite the spell out loud, with determination and grit to survive. Once she finished the incantation, nothing seemed to happen. She broke down on the floor in tears, perhaps finally accepting her fate once and for all. She went to sleep hoping that it would all be over when she awoke.
Morning came, and everything appeared to be in place apart from a strong smell. A strong metallic smell lingered throughout the air of the manor and into her bedroom. It was eerily quiet. She decided to get up to investigate, but she was startled by s
Install & use Install: BepInEx plugin
- The archive from playbuff is the mod itself — usually a BepInEx plugin (a .dll or a plugin folder once unzipped).
- Recommended: use a community mod manager (such as r2modman) — pick this game, import the mod, and the manager sets up BepInEx and its dependencies for you.
- Manual route: install the BepInEx loader in the game folder, then drop the unzipped .dll or plugin folder into BepInEx/plugins/.
- Launch the game — the BepInEx console logs every plugin it loads; seeing this mod in the log means it is installed.
Mods with listed dependencies need those installed too, or they will not load. Options are usually changed in-game or in the plugin's config file.
Install these first, or the mod will not work:
