Blacklist
by Sambo
Your private note list about players — local only, and only for you.
You played a round with someone who threw everything off the ship. Two weeks later the same guy
joins again, using a different name, and you don't recognise him. That's what this mod is for:
you leave yourself a note, and next time your chat tells you.
⚠️ First things first: this is not a shared naming-and-shaming list
With a mod called "Blacklist" that's the obvious question, so here it is right at the top:
| | |
|---|---|
| Sends data to a server? | No. There is no server. |
| Downloads lists from anywhere? | No. |
| Shares your entries with other players? | No. |
| Custom RPCs / network packets? | No. No Netcode Patcher required. |
| Telemetry, analytics, crash reports? | No. |
| Do other players need the mod? | No. They can't even tell you're using it. |
The mod is entirely client-side. Your list is a text file on your own disk. The chat output is
visible to you alone — it goes through HUDManager.AddChatMessage, the same method the game
uses to show you local system messages. It transmits nothing.
So this isn't a community ranking or a reputation system. It's a personal note-taking tool for
people you'd rather not play with again — like a sticky note next to your monitor, except it taps
you on the shoulder by itself.
What it does
As soon as you join a lobby and the Steam IDs have synced, the mod checks every player against
your list and reports hits in your local chat:!! BLACKLIST!! NewName - GRF,STL
(previously known as: Kevin)
GRF = griefer, STL = loot thief
"threw everything off the ship on Titan"
The key is always the SteamID64, never the name. Names are freely changeable in Lethal
Company — someone who renames themselves is still recognised, and the old spelling is shown
alongside.
Chat commands
Open the chat and type. Anything starting with /bl is intercepted locally and never sent to
the lobby.
| Command | Effect |
|---|---|
| /bl who | check every player in the lobby, with Steam IDs |
| /bl add [note] | create or extend an entry |
| /bl rm | delete an entry |
| /bl seen [name] | recently seen players, with Steam IDs |
| /bl list | current entries |
| /bl codes | code legend |
| /bl reload | re-read the files from disk |
| /bl help | help |
Example:
/bl add Kevin GRF,STL threw everything off the ship on Titan
The name doesn't have to be complete — an unambiguous substring is enough. If it is ambiguous,
the mod asks instead of guessing. Purely numeric input is treated as a SteamID64.
Names are resolved in this order: current lobby → existing entries → name cache. The cache is
why you can still add someone after they've left the lobby.
Codes
Three severity levels, colour-coded in chat.
🔴 Bad — GRF griefer · STL loot thief · SAB sabotage · TK teamkill · TOX toxic · SLR slurs · CHT cheats
🟠 Warn — EARLY starts too early · LEAVE leaves people behind · RQ rage-quit · AFK · MIC mic spam · TRL trolling · LAG · NOOB
🔵 Info — NL only if agreed beforehand · MOD needs mod sync · OK note only
You can invent your own codes — they work immediately, with no changes to the mod, and count
as Warn. An entry's level is always the highest of its codes.
The files
Both live in BepInEx/config/Blacklist/ and can be edited with any text editor. No JSON, no
Newtonsoft dependency.
blacklist.txt — your entries. Comment lines starting with # survive saving.
SteamID64 | CODES | last known name | note
76561198000000000 | GRF,STL | ExampleName | threw everything off the ship on Titan
known_players.txt — an automatic name cache for every player you've seen, not just the
listed ones. Capped at the 500 most recently seen.
SteamID64 | last known name | last seen (UTC)
76561198000000000 | ExampleName | 2026-07-24 21:03
If you edit by hand, /bl reload re-reads both files without restarting the game.

Install & use Install: BepInEx plugin
- The archive from playbuff is the mod itself — usually a BepInEx plugin (a .dll or a plugin folder once unzipped).
- Recommended: use a community mod manager (such as r2modman) — pick this game, import the mod, and the manager sets up BepInEx and its dependencies for you.
- Manual route: install the BepInEx loader in the game folder, then drop the unzipped .dll or plugin folder into BepInEx/plugins/.
- Launch the game — the BepInEx console logs every plugin it loads; seeing this mod in the log means it is installed.
Mods with listed dependencies need those installed too, or they will not load. Options are usually changed in-game or in the plugin's config file.
Install these first, or the mod will not work:
