The Magnum is the most powerful ranged secondary weapon in Left 4 Dead 2. It only has an eight-round magazine and cannot be dual-used, but it can kill ordinary infected in one hit in all game modes and on all difficulties.

Magnums are less produced than regular handguns and are usually found where regular regular handguns are. Unlike regular pistols, the Magnum's accuracy and rate of fire are the same whether fired upright or incapacitated, but the reload time is still slower.

The Magnum is a melee weapon or pistol replacement that holds eight massive half-inch rounds, guaranteed to make a hole the size of a plate. When incapacitated, this powerful pistol will shoot down all swarms infected with the primary vaccine.
