About this mod Machine translation
Considering this map is unfinished and gathering dust on my hard drive, I decided to release it to the public in its current (albeit unplayable) state. To view the map, open a console and type:
map fnaf4
I uploaded this unfinished map for several reasons:
-Someone might want to end up where I left off
-You want to take a walk in a visual theme park
There is currently no logic - there are no infected or survivor navigation paths, and it cannot be played through the campaign or survival. The only way to access the map is to enter 'map fnaf4' in the console.
Nothing to see, but hey - why not throw it out there. I have some cool ideas for this map and hope someone will pick up the torch. I didn’t have time to finish it because of the inevitable priorities of being a pseudo-adult.
Looking back, it's shocking that I uploaded my first map 6 years ago. Too bad I can't continue. However, as I mentioned in my discord server, I'm more likely to use the small mods I upload in my limited spare time on Back 4 Blood - L4D2's spiritual successor. However, only time will tell. If you would like further updates on any other potential work I may upload, please feel free to join my discord server.
That said, if completing the map is something you'd like to pursue, drop a comment and friend request below. Even if you don't have the technical know-how, I can still help you. The muscle memory is still fresh in my mind. All I ask in return is that you give it to me and any other contributor, no matter how big or small.
That's all. I feel as though I said everything that needed to be said. It's true, if you've been a fan of my work, I've always been a fan of yours.
Install & use Install: Left 4 Dead 2 custom map (.vpk)
- Custom maps ship as .vpk files too: unzip and copy the .vpk into the left4dead2/addons folder.
- Launch the game and pick the map from the Add-on Campaigns list in the main menu.
- If it does not show up, load it from the console (enable it in options first) with: map <mapname> — the name is usually in the bundled readme.
- In multiplayer, the host and every player need the same map installed.
Keep map versions in sync for multiplayer; large maps take a while to load the first time.
