About this mod Machine translation
Orange mint background movie
Movies and music played on the menu are handled separately by the game.
This means that if you replace the movie with a custom video with sound, the original menu music will still play in the background.
These instructions will show you how to replace the original movie files and how to delete the original menu music.
You need GCFscape to open the VPK files in this mod. Download using the link below:
---important! ---
When problems arise with L4D2, one can usually resolve the issue by verifying the game's cache files.
Note that when you do this, files that have been deleted or replaced by other custom files will actually be re-downloaded.
Therefore, every time you verify cache files, you must follow the installation instructions I describe below. It's unfortunate and annoying, but it is what it is.
--Installation instructions--
1Extract the bik file "Orange Mint Green" to your hard drive. This can be done by right-clicking on the bik file in the right box when opening a VPK file using GCFScape. Press "Extract".
2Go to the folder where the background movie is saved: "common\Left 4 Dead 2\left4dead2\media".
three. In the media folder you can find 5 background movies: "l4d2_background01.bik", and so on, "l4d2_background05.bik".
- Cut and paste these 5 bik files wherever you want them. These files will be your backup!
5Copy and paste "orange mint" into the media folder.
- Copy 4 more copies of this file, so that you can get 5 bik files.
7Rename the file to the default name, i.e.: "l4d2_background01.bik", etc., "l4d2_background05.bik"
8Go to "common\Left 4 Dead 2\left4dead2\sound\music".
- In the "Music" folder, cut and paste the folder named "l4d2" to the location where you want it to be your backup. This is the folder containing the menu music,
So you want to take this folder out of the game's folder structure.
10Launch your game to watch and listen to your new menu movie.
Install & use Install: Left 4 Dead 2 addon (.vpk)
- Nearly all Left 4 Dead 2 custom content ships as .vpk files: unzip and copy the .vpk into the game's left4dead2/addons folder.
- Create the addons folder if it does not exist; content loads automatically on launch.
- The in-game Addons menu lets you review, enable and disable what is installed.
- A few packs or tools do not follow the .vpk flow — follow the bundled readme.
In multiplayer, the host and players need the same addons installed.
