About this mod Machine translation
I hid this, but a few people asked me, so I thought, why not put it out there. If you have been implanted with V1 and want to use this one, the unknown suspect will use that one first.
Main differences:
- More compact teammate HUD panel: I felt the original took up too much screen space, so I compressed it a bit but still kept all the information.
-Higher resolution textures: I had to redo some existing textures to fit the compact design, so while I'm there I thought I'd upgrade some of the lower quality textures as well.
- Animated Skulls: When you or your allies are incapacitated, skulls will now expand and shrink.
-Survival timer: The default one is ugly and huge, so again I made it more compact.
-The dish on the right: feels much better to me.
Infected huds are unchanged, mainly because I feel like valve disabling for most plugins, including hud mods, makes little sense in VS.
If you want to compare the two, please refer to the original article:
Since there are a lot of changes not everyone likes the original will remain intact.
Install & use Install: Left 4 Dead 2 addon (.vpk)
- Nearly all Left 4 Dead 2 custom content ships as .vpk files: unzip and copy the .vpk into the game's left4dead2/addons folder.
- Create the addons folder if it does not exist; content loads automatically on launch.
- The in-game Addons menu lets you review, enable and disable what is installed.
- A few packs or tools do not follow the .vpk flow — follow the bundled readme.
In multiplayer, the host and players need the same addons installed.
