Just a short video to show some Left 4 Dead 2 history. For those who pre-ordered Left 4 Dead 2, an early demo provided a small teaser of what's in store for the game's eventual release. This will play when launching or exiting the game demo. Read below to learn how to fully activate this mod!

You will need GCFscape to extract the files correctly. After installing the program, do the following:
Go to the directory: steam/steamapps/common/Left 4 Dead 2/left4dead2/media. This will bring you all the media files for Left 4 Dead 2.
Drag the media files out of the vpk (using GCFscape) and replace them into L4D2's media folder. You are replacing the "l4d2_intro" file with the file included in the vpk.
Make sure you have an authentic introduction backed up. You can do this easily by renaming the true intro "l4d2_introTRUE".
As an alternative, you can also place an upsell trailer here. Simply rename it to Introduction and you can write a script to play the video file.
If you messed up your file directory for some reason, reinstall the game's missing files by going to Steam's Left 4 Dead 2 Properties and verifying the integrity of the game files.
Install & use Install: Left 4 Dead 2 addon (.vpk)
- Nearly all Left 4 Dead 2 custom content ships as .vpk files: unzip and copy the .vpk into the game's left4dead2/addons folder.
- Create the addons folder if it does not exist; content loads automatically on launch.
- The in-game Addons menu lets you review, enable and disable what is installed.
- A few packs or tools do not follow the .vpk flow — follow the bundled readme.
In multiplayer, the host and players need the same addons installed.
