Hello ultimate L4D1 lovers!
Do you prefer L4D movie introductions to L4D2 movie introductions? Or do you want it when launching the game? Have you ever thought that the original background of L4D is more important than the background of L4D2? Well, me too! As an avid fan of Xbox-era L4D, I wanted this since I essentially turned L4D2 into L4D using mods.
Installation method:
Place the downloaded vpk file into "Left 4 Dead 2\left4dead2\addons\workshop"
Find this mod in the "\steamapps\common\Left 4 Dead 2\left4dead2\addons\workshop" folder and open it.
If you want only the L4D intro and not the L4D2 intro, rename the file from valve.bik to L4D2_intro.bik. If not, then leave it as is.
Move the .bik file to "steam\steamapps\common\Left 4 Dead 2\left4dead2\media" and replace the valve.bik and existing background.bik files.
Install & use Install: Left 4 Dead 2 addon (.vpk)
- Nearly all Left 4 Dead 2 custom content ships as .vpk files: unzip and copy the .vpk into the game's left4dead2/addons folder.
- Create the addons folder if it does not exist; content loads automatically on launch.
- The in-game Addons menu lets you review, enable and disable what is installed.
- A few packs or tools do not follow the .vpk flow — follow the bundled readme.
In multiplayer, the host and players need the same addons installed.
