I had an idea for a campaign but the problem is I don't have any experience making L4D2 maps so I made a small survival map based on one of the areas in that campaign idea I thought it would be better than doing a long campaign This is the first map I've uploaded and it's a beta so there are still a few hiccups but it shouldn't be a problem Don't get too hung up on this experience
Install & use Install: Left 4 Dead 2 custom map (.vpk)
- Custom maps ship as .vpk files too: unzip and copy the .vpk into the left4dead2/addons folder.
- Launch the game and pick the map from the Add-on Campaigns list in the main menu.
- If it does not show up, load it from the console (enable it in options first) with: map <mapname> — the name is usually in the bundled readme.
- In multiplayer, the host and every player need the same map installed.
Keep map versions in sync for multiplayer; large maps take a while to load the first time.
