The crosshairs are for the default standard hud, if there is any conflict you have installed another mod that uses the hudlayout.res file.
Crosshair must be disabled in game by adding cl_crosshair_alpha "0" in your autoexec.cfg
Use Melee Reticle Removal to remove the reticle for melee weapons.
Install & use Install: Left 4 Dead 2 addon (.vpk)
- Nearly all Left 4 Dead 2 custom content ships as .vpk files: unzip and copy the .vpk into the game's left4dead2/addons folder.
- Create the addons folder if it does not exist; content loads automatically on launch.
- The in-game Addons menu lets you review, enable and disable what is installed.
- A few packs or tools do not follow the .vpk flow — follow the bundled readme.
In multiplayer, the host and players need the same addons installed.
