Chinese navy replaces four people in a generation

The Chinese People's Liberation Army Navy (English: Navy of the CPLA, or People's Liberation Army Navy, abbreviation: PLAN or PLA Navy) is the maritime armed force of the People's Republic of China and a branch of the Chinese People's Liberation Army.

The People's Liberation Army Navy was established on April 23, 1949. The Chinese People's Liberation Army Navy is the main military force that defends the country's territorial waters and safeguards its maritime rights and interests. The Navy is an independent service within the People's Liberation Army and is at the level of the Zhengda Military Region. Its command structure is the Naval Command, as well as the Naval Political Department, the Naval Logistics Department and the Naval Equipment Department. The navy is mainly composed of ship units, submarine units, aviation units, Marine Corps, and coastal defense units. It has the ability to fight on the surface, in the water, and in the air. The main mission of the Chinese People's Liberation Army Navy is to defend the enemy's invasion from the sea independently or in conjunction with the army and air force, defend territorial sea sovereignty, and safeguard maritime rights and interests. The Chinese People's Liberation Army Navy has jurisdiction over three fleets: the North Sea, the East China Sea, and the South China Sea, as well as various naval academies and scientific research and testing institutions.
