⚙️ Instructions for use
These values are all my personal preferences. I matched Henry's walking speed from the Slow Henry file to the NPC speed from the Leisurely Stroll file. Please note:
- Character attributes and weight will affect the overall movement speed
- Some NPCs (such as hunters, soldiers) will still walk faster than town residents
- Bailiffs move faster than townsfolk
- Sneak and pickpocket players will find it easier to sneak slowly, but will still need to use the run button to catch up to their target
🎮 Game experience suggestions
💡 **IMPORTANT NOTE**: Using only NPC files will make the NPC walking look more realistic, but will make Henry's walking speed look ridiculously fast. I recommend using a slow Henry file as well!
If you don't like my slow Henry setup, you can use it with the following mods:
- Quick Step
- Faster Hard Working Lad
🔧 Tips for modders
Modders can view the `soul_archetype_movement.xml` file to modify the walking, running and sprinting speeds of NPCs, as well as the speed of animals such as horses.

🎯 **Personal Note**: I further adjusted the difficulty of the game based on the hardcore mode to make the game more challenging. These mods may not be suitable for all players!
📥 Installation method
Install using the mod manager, or place the file into the mods folder of Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2.
Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions
- Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
- There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
- Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
- Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.
Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
