Dialogue Visor Down - PTF
🎭 **Keep your helmet looking cool in conversation! **
✨ Core Functions
With this mod, you can still turn the visor on/off via the Z key. It changes helmet properties, enables skills, and adds visor overlays. The only thing that has changed is the appearance of the helmet - the visor is always off so it can be shown during dialogue.
🛡️ **IMPORTANT NOTE**:
- I try to make NPCs with special helmets unaffected by this mod
- If you spot an important character wearing a lowered helmet, please report it
- If any helmet is not working, please provide a screenshot with the inventory icon
🔧 Compatibility
💡 **PTF Format**: This mod is in PTF format and should not conflict with other mods unless they edit the helmet line in CharacterComponent.xml - this is mainly responsible for models and textures.
🎯 **Mod Helmet Support**:
- May not work with mod helmets
- If you would like to create add-ons for a specific mod, please leave a message in the comment area
- Add-ons must be loaded last (with a lower ID) in mod_order.txt
📋 **AVAILABLE ADD-ons**:
- Hounskull Revival
⏳ **To be added**:
- Dragonborn Helmet - Waiting for author permission
- Henry's Handy Equipment Emporium - Pending author's permission
📝 Developer Notes
🔍 **Technical Challenge**: There are almost no traces of visor raising/lowering in the game files for editing. It was the only roundabout way I could keep my visor down during the conversation.
💭 **CURRENT LIMITATION**: Even if forced to put down the visor during conversation, it will not show up until you return to normal gameplay. Like during the conversation a different version of the helmet is shown that is always raised. But I have some ideas for getting around this limitation.
🔄 Update log
📅 **30.7.2025** - Hell Lord Helmet added
📅 **10.8.2025** - Removed some unnecessary lines to hopefully make the mod more compatible with other vanilla helmet mods

Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions
- Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
- There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
- Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
- Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.
Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
