KCD2 Nutritional System Mod

🍎 **Latest Update** 🍖

I finally got around to polishing this mod! Please check out the Documentation section for all new releases!

🆕 New content

  • Based on the original three buff display options, a fourth has been added: only negative effects are displayed in the game (positive effects are visible in the inventory)
  • Made Hardmode versions of all 4 display options where positive buffs do not provide attribute bonuses and must be maintained to avoid negative effects

🐛 Bug fixes

  • Fixed the issue of Henry's soul value being abnormally consumed after each full use of bathhouse services or performing certain activities.
  • The mod now correctly handles the "time well spent" buff which previously mysteriously reset all nutritional status to 0
  • Added a set of cooking mod meal items that I accidentally missed, all cookable foods now replenish the corresponding nutrition category
  • Milk now provides water + protein
  • Fixed the strange bug that caused abnormal consumption of stamina when trotting while riding a horse.
  • The stew pot in the game now correctly replenishes water + protein + vegetables

Special thanks to everyone who created translations and shared them with non-English speaking fans! I really appreciate your efforts and I'm sure your fellow citizens do too! ❤️

🍽️ Module function

This mod enhances the survival mechanics of Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 by adding a comprehensive nutrition and hydration system. Designed for players looking for a more immersive and authentic role-playing experience, Henry's nutritional choices will have a meaningful impact on his performance.

**Main functions:**

  • 📊 Introducing a complete nutritional system to track Henry’s protein, vegetable, fruit and water intake
  • ⚠️ Implement the negative effects of nutritional deficiencies, including scurvy (lack of fruit), malnutrition (lack of protein), torpor (lack of vegetables) and dehydration
  • 💪 Provides meaningful buffs for maintaining a balanced diet (except in hard mode), providing appropriate rewards for eating complete and balanced meals
  • 🥩 Classify all food in the game according to nutritional content, making food selection more strategic and realistic
  • ⚖️ Encourages authentic eating patterns without becoming a burden or distracting from the main gameplay

🎯Suitable for everyone

This mod is ideal for immersion-focused players who enjoy survival-style games and want in-game choices to reflect medieval reality. It adds depth to everyday activities such as traveling between towns, supporting an experience more in tune with the reality of the time. Plan your trip and make sure you have drinking water and decent travel rations to stay healthy.

🔧 How it works

Nutrisystem tracks four key aspects of your diet:

  • **Protein intake**: meat, fish, eggs and cheese to maintain your strength and endurance
  • **Vegetable Consumption**: Various vegetables and herbs enhance agility and overall health
  • **Fruit Consumption**: Fruit prevents scurvy and maintains vitality
  • **Hydration**: Drink fluids regularly to prevent dehydration and maintain performance

Each nutrient provides a buff when maintained (except in Hardmode) and a negative effect when ignored.

🎮 Version selection

  • **Inventory Only** - Show buffs/debuffs only in inventory UI
  • **Game & Inventory** - Show buffs/debuffs both in inventory UI and during gameplay
  • **Game Debuffs Only** - Displays debuffs during gameplay and debuffs/buffs in inventory UI
  • **Hardcore Mode** - No visible gain indicator. Track time and eat appropriately without visual aids
  • **Hard Mode** - All variants of the above, but the frontal buffs provide …

Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions

  1. Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
  2. There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
  3. Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
  4. Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.

Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
