Night Vision Goggle Attachment – Panoramic Night Vision for Military Helmets
The GPNVG-18 quad-tube panoramic night vision goggle joins the human host as a true helmet accessory - made, mounted on a military helmet, flipping the tubes, and turning night into day. To make it on the electronic workbench, right-click on the military helmet you equipped → Attachment, drag it in, and press the T key.
Real accessories, not buttons
Night Vision is a new piece of equipment built into the game system: quality level, durability, gun kit repair, disassembly, and its own name in 14 game languages. The ride reuses the game's native gun mount window - the same drag, durability circle and save mechanics now apply to the helmet as well. Nothing is fake.
✨ What it does
Craftable - a recipe on an electronics workbench: chips, circuit boards, batteries, magnets, titanium and steel
Mounts on Military Helmets - Right-click on any equipped military helmet to open its accessories window (7 helmets qualify, each with manual mounting locations)
Visible on head - goggles physically appear on the helmet, with smooth flip/flip animation on the T key
True Night Vision - Flip down and the camera locks onto True Light Magnification: the entire scene brightens regardless of distance, in a classic phosphor green color with grain and dark shadows
Durability Consumption - Using the goggles consumes the night vision goggles themselves (default is 100 minutes). The tube will flip up on its own when empty; repair the night vision goggles as you would any firearm accessory and move on
Backpack Badge - Helmets carrying night vision goggles will display a small green goggles icon in the corner of the item icon, backpack and character interface
Withstands everything - drop the helmet, pick it up, hide it in a container, reload the save: the night vision goggles retain their accurate durability, even when the helmet is lying on the ground
The fine print, honestly
Ambient light is still important – night vision amplifies existing light. The default adjustment is for clear nights; cloudy or heavy rainy nights are darker - the weather is lower and the exposure is fixed.
In the configuration, it will glow even on stormy nights.
Daytime glare - put the tube down into the sun and you'll be overexposed. This is what the real image intensifier looks like; flip it back to normal
Only military helmet models can use night vision goggles - 7 out of 11 models in the game. The other four (gasmask and face shield versions) don't have room for brackets, so they are intentionally excluded
Night vision goggles occupy their own slot type: they cannot be mounted on a gun, and scopes cannot be inserted into helmet slots
The flipped state is not saved - after loading a save, the tube will begin to collapse (upward), and the night vision goggles and their durability will remain unchanged
⚙️ Configuration
Everything lives in BepInEx\config\humanhost.nvgattachment.cfg. The file is monitored - in-game changes take effect immediately after saving, without restarting. The ones you really need:
fixed exposure
——Brightness knob. Each time the brightness is reduced by one, it is halved for each reduction of +1. The default 7 is tested on clear nights - if it's too dark on a cloudy or rainy night, try 5 or 6. You can save a file while wearing goggles and watch it change in real time
ToggleKey
— Flip key, default T key (automatically ignored when placing a building, use T key to rotate)
DrainPerSecond
——Durability consumption per real-time second, default value is 0.1. Infinite running time is set to 0
Hue, saturation, pops, and film grain all have their own shades of light and shade—from classic green to white phosphor to a clean, bright look, it’s up to you
Save and uninstall
The Night Vision Goggle is a real item, so it exists in your save file like any weapon or accessory; its mount status depends on the game's own accessory data. It works both ways: before removing the modif …
Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions
- Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
- There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
- Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
- Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.
Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
