About this mod Machine translation
🎒 Backpack Extension
A clean quality of life mod designed for Human Host. It expands your inventory from the original's 56 slots to 1,000, adds a vertical scrollbar and full mouse wheel support, and all content can be saved to your save.
✨ Features
🎒 Bigger backpack
Default 203 slots (7×29), configurable 56~1000
Belt (8) and equipment (9) remain in original condition
Stacking, item type, durability, quality, all original mechanisms can take effect in new slots
Clone from the original game pre-production - same graphics, same interface behavior
🖱️Rollers and rollers
Permanent vertical scrollbar on the right side of the backpack
The mouse wheel can be scrolled everywhere - including above item icons (most mods ignore this feature because Unity's EventTrigger eats the carousel event; this mod forwards it correctly)
Smooth scrolling, no inertia/bounce
⚙️ Configurable
BagSlotCount — total number of slots (default 203, range 56–1000, multiples of 7 recommended)
scrollbar width — Scrollbar width in pixels (default 16, range 8–40)
Scroll Sensitivity — Scroll wheel scroll speed (default 30, range 5–100)
Background life BepInEx\config\humanhost.backpack.expand.cfg
💾 Save safe
Items in expansion slots will be written into the save file by the game itself
When reloading, the items in the expansion slot will be automatically rebuilt (stack, durability, quality)
Scene loading is automatically detected when returning to the main menu and re-entering the same save
🎯 Compatibility first
No file replacement, no DLL patch game assembly
It doesn't replace existing slots - it just adds new slots at the end (index 73+)
Do not touch belts, equipment or NPC backpacks
Sorting, dragging, splitting, stacking, right-click menu - all original features are still available
📦 Installation
This mod requires BepInEx 5 (mono x64). The workshop only ships BackpackExpand.dll
——Install BepInEx first.
⚙️ Step 1 — Install BepInEx 5
Download BepInEx_win_x64_5.4.23.2.zip from
Unzip it to your Human Host installation folder (that is, the human host.exe
).Default:......\steamapps\common\human host\
You should look at winhttp.dll, doorstop_config.ini, and a BepInEx
Folder next to game executable
Start the game once and then exit - this will generate BepInEx\plugins\, BepInEx\config\, and BepInEx LogOutput.log
⚙️ Step 2 — Enable HideManagerGameObject (required)
⚠️ Without this step, the mod will load but nothing will happen.
Open the door BepInEx\config\BepInEx.cfg
Change HideManagerGameObject = false
to HideManagerGameObject = true
save
⚙️ Step 3 — Install BackpackExpand.dll
Subscribe to this workshop content
Received BackpackExpand.dll
Download from the Steam Workshop Downloads folder to your human host\BepInEx\plugins\
Start the game
✅ Verify
Open BepInEx LogOutput.log
——Please look for "Loaded, target BagSlotCount=..." and "Bag 56 -> 203". In the game, open your backpack - there's a scroll bar on the right and more slots below.
🎯 Purpose
Open the backpack normally (default button B))
Use the mouse wheel to scroll, or drag the scroll bar handle on the right
Put items into any slot - stack/sort/drag/right-click
Sort button to organize complete extension inventory
⚙️ Configuration
After installing the module, start it once and edit Human Host\BepInEx\config\humanhost.backpack.expand.cfg:
BagSlotCount — total number, default 203, range 56–1000
Scrollbar width — width in pixels, default 16, range 8–40
Roll Sensitivity — RPM, default 30, range 5–100
Tip: Use a multiple of 7 for BagSlotCount so that the last row is completely filled (the bag is 7 columns wide). Example: 56,63,70,…,203,210,…,700,…,994.
⚠️ IMPORTANT – UNLOAD ITEMS IN EXPANSION SLOT
Items that exceed the original 56 slots will be saved through the index. If you uninstall the mod or drop the BagSlotCount below the item index, the data will remain in the save, but no interface slot will show up. ✅ Safe operation:
Before unloading, move all valuables to the first 56 slots

Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions
- Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
- There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
- Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
- Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.
Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
