ImpactFrameMod
Adds a violent lens distortion and chromatic aberration impact frame effect when firing high-damage weapons like snipers.
About this mod Author’s original text
Impact Frame Mod
A visual mod for How To Fish that introduces a violent Impact Frame effect whenever you fire a high-damage weapon like a sniper.
When you shoot, the screen edges suffer a heavy camera lens shockwave combined with maximum chromatic aberration, snappily returning to normal to emphasize the sheer power and recoil of the shot.
Configuration Options
This mod generates a standard configuration file (com.impactframe.mod) inside your BepInEx/config folder upon the first launch. You can tweak the following settings:
[Impact Frame]
- Enabled (Default: true): Easily turn the entire visual effect on or off.
- Sound Enabled (Default: true): Plays shoot_effect.ogg whenever the Impact Frame is applied.
- Duration Frames (60 FPS) (Range: 1-90, Default: 45): Customize how long the impact and its smooth recovery transition lasts. (e.g., 30 frames ≈ 0.5s).
- Lens Distortion Intensity (Range: -1.0 to 1.0, Default: -0.7): Control the violent camera shift. Negative values stretch outward like a reverse fisheye, positive values pinch inward.
- Chromatic Aberration Intensity (Range: 0.0 to 1.0, Default: 1.0): The amount of color-channel splitting (red/blue fringe refraction) at the peak of the impact.
[Impact Frame Detection]
- Detect By Name (Default: true): Automatically triggers the impact frame if the active weapon's GameObject contains the word "Sniper".
- Detect By Damage (Default: true): Triggers the effect dynamically based on firepower, regardless of the weapon's name.
- Damage Threshold (Range: 100-150, Default: 150): The minimum damage required to trigger the effect if damage detection is active.

Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions
- Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.

- For a manual install, put the mod files into the matching Mod / plugins folder inside the game directory.
- Launch the game to confirm it loaded; mods with listed dependencies need those installed as well.
Install locations vary a lot between mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
