Glowing Lines & Lures
Give every cast a splash of color! Glowing Lines & Lures lets you personalize the fishing line and the lure or hook on both the fishing rod and crab rod. A vivid line helps you follow a cast, while a glowing lure adds a little sparkle to the water.
Flashing lights: The optional strobe pattern flashes repeatedly. If flashing lights are uncomfortable, choose Static or Pulse, or turn off lure glow.
Hold either rod in your hands. A Hold E for Rod Options hint appears just above the hotbar; keep holding until its progress bar fills. Drag the window by its orange title bar or resize it from the lower-right corner. Scroll inside the window on smaller screens. Adjustments appear on the rod and in the menu as you make them. Choose Save and close to keep them for future sessions. Press Esc to close the menu, too. You can hide the hint in the menu and still hold E to open it.

| Match Line | Copies the line's color, glow switch, brightness, and halo size to the lure. |
| Match Lure | Copies the lure's color, glow switch, brightness, and halo size to the line. |
| Link colors and glow | Keeps those shared line and lure settings mirrored as you adjust either side. Uncheck it to edit them independently. |
| Emissive lure glow | Adds a soft halo around the lure or hook; adjust glow brightness and halo size separately from point-light intensity and range. |
| Static, Strobe, Pulse | Keeps the lure steady, blinks it, or smoothly breathes its glow. Set the pattern rate from 0.2 to 8 Hz. |
| Reset defaults | Returns all colors and light settings to the mod defaults. |
| Hide Hold E rod tooltip | Hides the small on-screen hint and its progress bar while keeping Hold E available. |
Settings are saved for your player on this installation. The mod changes the appearance of the rod you are holding; it does not change fishing mechanics or lure effectiveness. Other players need the mod to see their own customized rod visuals.
Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions
- Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
- Most mods rely on the game's mod loader — the usual route is a community mod manager (such as r2modman): pick this game, install, and it handles the loader and dependencies.
- For a manual install, put the mod files into the matching Mod / plugins folder inside the game directory.
- Launch the game to confirm it loaded; mods with listed dependencies need those installed as well.
Install locations vary a lot between mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
