About this mod Author’s original text
Buried Treasures
Message in Bottles randomly spawn at sea with custom made content.
If you see a glowing bottle in the ocean, shoot it! Maybe its a note, maybe its a treasure map.
Treasure Maps
- (Rare drop) are procedurally generated and rewards are balanced with your game's progression. The same way we catch fish, is the same way we dig for treasure, with bullets.
Messages
- As of version 1.2.7, messages can be anonymously submitted by players. Enjoy this fan operated service: Cast your daily Bottles for BuriedTreasures. You are allowed to cast a limited number of messages-in-a-bottle per day. If a player finds your bottle in game, it's read count goes up.
All messages are audited and moderated by AI with strict guidelines to comply with ToS. Logins are required. Cringe lords will be banned automatically from this service before messages are submitted.

Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions
- Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
- Most mods rely on the game's mod loader — the usual route is a community mod manager (such as r2modman): pick this game, install, and it handles the loader and dependencies.
- For a manual install, put the mod files into the matching Mod / plugins folder inside the game directory.
- Launch the game to confirm it loaded; mods with listed dependencies need those installed as well.
Install locations vary a lot between mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
Install these first, or the mod will not work:
