Author's original text:
This mod replaces Aloy with Nil on all outfits and completes facial animations during cutscenes and conversations. I used AkiniKites’ Aloy tweaking tool.
Going through a New Game+ run but thinking why not make some visual changes? Found a few alternatives to Aloy, but not to Nil (which is one of my favorites), so I decided to make one.
Install
Place Patch_AloysAdjustments_NIL.bin in: C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Horizon Zero Dawn\Packed_DX12 or simply in the “Packed_DX12” folder. This will take effect when you start the game.
uninstall
Delete Patch_AloysAdjustments_NIL.bin
-Known issues
If playing as another character, the game will crash upon waking up during the final story mission.
No spoilers. Before going to bed in the apartment where there seems to be no turning back, switch to playing as Aloy.
This can be done by disabling mods or just keeping one armor as the default model.
-minor issues
Still uses Aloy's voice so may be off-putting to some
Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions
- Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
- There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
- Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
- Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.
Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
