🎮 Gameplay
Core Mechanics
StubbornHornet is a Stubborn Hornet Mod. Hornet's mind is always fixated on a single direction, and she can only attack in the direction she wants.
Arrow System
- The player displays 4 vertically arranged arrows (up/down/left/right) above their head
- The bottom arrow is the direction Hornet's mind currently wants
- After successfully executing an action, the arrow queue scrolls down, generating a new direction
Action Rules
| Action Type | Input | Required Direction |
| ------------------ | -------------- | ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ |
| Basic Attack | Attack button | Up/Down/Left/Right (based on attack direction) |
| Charged Attack | Attack + Hold | Left/Right (based on character facing) |
| Dash Attack | Dash + Attack | Left/Right (based on character facing) |
| Harpoon | Harpoon button | Left/Right (based on character facing) |
| Spell/Tool | Spell button | Left/Right (based on character facing), Up/Down (based on tool/spell position) |
Failure Penalty
- When the action direction does not match the mind direction, the action will be blocked (no attack hitbox / no mana or tool consumption)
- The arrows won't scroll, you need to adjust your direction and try again
Success
- When directions match, the action executes normally
- The arrow queue scrolls, moving to the next direction

Install & use Install: BepInEx plugin
- The archive from playbuff is the mod itself — usually a BepInEx plugin (a .dll or a plugin folder once unzipped).
- Recommended: use a community mod manager (such as r2modman) — pick this game, import the mod, and the manager sets up BepInEx and its dependencies for you.
- Manual route: install the BepInEx loader in the game folder, then drop the unzipped .dll or plugin folder into BepInEx/plugins/.
- Launch the game — the BepInEx console logs every plugin it loads; seeing this mod in the log means it is installed.
Mods with listed dependencies need those installed too, or they will not load. Options are usually changed in-game or in the plugin's config file.
Install these first, or the mod will not work:
