Silksong Loadout Randomizer
A BepInEx plugin for Hollow Knight: Silksong that randomizes your equipped tools and silk skills. This mod was inspired by MyPetCactus and his randomized build run on YouTube.
Features
- Bench Randomization: Randomize your entire loadout every time you rest at a bench.
- Boss Defeat Randomization: Automatically randomize your loadout when you strike the final blow on a boss.
- On-Demand Hotkey: Press F10 (configurable) to instantly shuffle your loadout at any time.
- In-Game Notifications: Uses the native Silksong banner UI to notify you when a randomization occurs.
- Safe Persistence: Built-in save protection intercepts the game's background threading to ensure illegitimate or unowned items are never permanently written to your save file.
Configuration
All options can be configured in-game via the BepInEx ConfigurationManager menu (F1 by default).
You can customize exactly what gets randomized:
- Include/Exclude Crests, Silk Skills, Red Tools, Blue Tools, or Yellow Tools.
- Bypass unlock requirements to allow the randomizer to give you items you haven't found yet!
- Includes robust support for all 48 boss encounters, gracefully handling multi-boss fights without misfiring.
Installation
Recommended: Download and install automatically / r2modman.
Manual Installation:
- Install BepInEx 5 for Hollow Knight: Silksong.
- Place SilksongLoadoutRandomizer.dll in your BepInEx/plugins folder.
- Launch the game and enjoy the chaos!

Install & use Install: BepInEx plugin
- The archive from playbuff is the mod itself — usually a BepInEx plugin (a .dll or a plugin folder once unzipped).
- Recommended: use a community mod manager (such as r2modman) — pick this game, import the mod, and the manager sets up BepInEx and its dependencies for you.
- Manual route: install the BepInEx loader in the game folder, then drop the unzipped .dll or plugin folder into BepInEx/plugins/.
- Launch the game — the BepInEx console logs every plugin it loads; seeing this mod in the log means it is installed.
Mods with listed dependencies need those installed too, or they will not load. Options are usually changed in-game or in the plugin's config file.
Install these first, or the mod will not work:
