Gamepad UI Switcher
A mod that allows you to override the UI hints for your game controller.
Features
- Allow switching between hints for these gamepads
- Playstation (DualShock 4, DualSense)
- Steam Deck
- Switch (Joycons, Pro Controller)
- Xbox (360, One, Series X)
- Swap face buttons, for example: A B, X Y / Cross Circle, Square Triangle
Installation
The Simple Way
Use r2modman or Gale.
Manual
- Download BepInExPack Silksong and extract it to the game folder, next to the game executable
- Download Silksong.I18N and extract it inside of /BepInEx/plugins
- Download GamepadUISwitcher.zip and extract it inside of /BepInEx/plugins

- (Windows) Run the game normally
- (Linux/MacOS) Run run_bepinex.sh
Configuration
Options -> Controller from the game's main menu or pause screen.
Alternatively, if you have BepInEx.ConfigurationManager installed, you can use its menu (Default: F1).
Preview
Install & use Install: BepInEx plugin
- The archive from playbuff is the mod itself — usually a BepInEx plugin (a .dll or a plugin folder once unzipped).
- Recommended: use a community mod manager (such as r2modman) — pick this game, import the mod, and the manager sets up BepInEx and its dependencies for you.
- Manual route: install the BepInEx loader in the game folder, then drop the unzipped .dll or plugin folder into BepInEx/plugins/.
- Launch the game — the BepInEx console logs every plugin it loads; seeing this mod in the log means it is installed.
Mods with listed dependencies need those installed too, or they will not load. Options are usually changed in-game or in the plugin's config file.
