About this mod Machine translation

The blueprint module makes walking/jogging switching more intuitive, and adds the functions of automatic walking and automatic navigation to tasks/way points.

The Walking Mod

🚶‍♂️ A blueprint mod that revolutionizes the way you move around Hogwarts Legacy!

✨ Core Functions

  • **True Walk/Jog Switch**: Pressing the **C Key** now actually switches between walk mode and jog mode without resetting after you stop moving or casting a spell. Say goodbye to the trouble of repeatedly pressing keys!
  • **Automatic walking**: Free your hands! Press **Alt + W** (or your custom key combination) to initiate auto-forward, allowing you to drink pumpkin juice while admiring the scenery.
  • **Automatic pathfinding (experimental)**: Click where you want to go! Track a quest or select a waypoint on the map, then press a shortcut key and the character will attempt to automatically navigate to the destination.
⚠️ **NOTE**: This feature is in its early stages and may get you into trouble, please be vigilant and have a sense of humor when using it!

🛠️ Installation and requirements

**Required prerequisites**:

  • Blueprint Apparate Modloader

**Installation steps**:

  • Place the mod files into your `~mods/` folder.
  • Run the game and press **F8** to bring up the blueprint module loader menu.
  • Enter `"WalkingMod"` to load the module.

⚙️ Module configuration

Don't like the default keys? no problem!

  • Press **F3** in the game to bring up the intuitive key binding configuration interface and easily customize all shortcut keys.

🎮 Controller support

Controller players also participate!

  • **Switch walking/jogging**: Press and hold **X key** for 1 second.
  • **Switch automatic walking**: Press and hold the **RB key** for 1 second.
💡 **Tip**: Long pressing RB may still trigger ancient magic throw, please pay attention to the aiming direction when activating.

🔧 Known issues and experimental features

  • **Map Loading Speed Reset**: Movement speed may reset every time a new map is loaded. (The experimental "state retention" feature can be enabled in the configuration menu and is turned off by default).
  • **Abnormal speed when riding a broom**: If you ride a broom in walking mode, the broom speed may be abnormal. (Beta fix already available).
  • **Compatibility**: This mod is not compatible with the **Mouse Controlled Broom Mod**.
  • **Experimental state retention**: The function of maintaining walking status across maps is **experimental** and may affect the key bindings of some players, so please use it with caution.

🎬 Video tutorial

Want to see how cool automatic pathfinding is? Don’t forget to check out the preview/tutorial videos in the video section of the mod page!

💡 Extras

The module also contains a **basic UE4SS Lua script** that can independently modify the default walking speed (key binding function is not included).

🙏 Acknowledgments

  • Special thanks to **Narknon** for developing the blueprint loader, without which this mod wouldn't be possible.
  • Also thanks to **nathdev** for his UnEquip mod, whose in-game key configuration interface idea inspired me.

**Developer Note**: I no longer play this game and will most likely not update this mod again. Thank you all for your support and understanding!
This is an early version of the module and may contain bugs. As with all mods, use at your own risk and enjoy a more convenient walk through the Wizarding World! ✨

Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions

  1. Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
  2. There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
  3. Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
  4. Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.

Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
