⚙️ Custom buttons
You can easily change the key bindings to any combination you like:
- After installing and running the module once, exit the game.
- Open the folder: `%localappdata%\Hogwarts Legacy\Saved\Config\WindowsNoEditor`
- Use Notepad to edit the **`Input.ini`** file.

- Modify the highlighted part (such as `Key=RightControl`, `bAlt=True`, etc.) to the key you want.
- Save the file and restart the game to take effect.
⚠️ Known issues and solutions
- **During cutscenes and mini-games**: The game disables almost all user input, so you must switch to story mode before **the mini-game starts** and switch back after it ends. For the spell learning mini-game, you need to switch before the lesson actually begins.
- **Variable Reset**: When you switch to story mode, the module will remember your previous difficulty. However, this memory variable may be cleared if you perform certain actions that cause the game to reload the current level (such as playing a spell learning mini-game, fast traveling, apparating). Attempts to switch back to the original difficulty at this time may fail.
- **Solution**: Use **`Alt + Right Ctrl`** to manually cycle back to the difficulty you want.
🔗 Conflicts and troubleshooting
- **Key Conflict**: This module and the author's **Quick Save II** module both use the `right Ctrl key` by default. If installed at the same time, you will need to modify the keybindings of one of them.
- **File Conflict**: This mod uses **pakchunk 1016**. Once installed, you can run the author's **PakChunk Check …
Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions
- Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
- There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
- Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
- Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.
Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
