Quietus - Confringo and Swift volume fix
🎧 **Say goodbye to the harsh noise and enjoy the harmonious magical world! **
This mod remixes the sound effects of the spell **Confringo** and the quick dodge skill **Swift**, with the main purpose of reducing their volume.
✨ Feature Highlights
- **Volume Balance**: Significantly reduces the original volume of `Confringo` and `Swift` sound effects, so you no longer need to turn the sound effect volume too low.
- **Sound quality tweaks**: `Confringo`'s explosions are now less "booming", and `Swift`'s dodge sound effects are less sharp and impactful.
- **Subtle but Key**: The changes are small, but the effect is significant. Now you can safely set the in-game sound volume to around 90 instead of being forced to turn it down very low.
💡 **Effect Comparison**: You can view the comparison video to feel the difference before and after repair.

📥 Installation Guide
**Manual installation**
- Extract the contents of the `~mods` folder in the download package to your own `~mods` folder.
- This folder is usually located at: `C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Hogwarts Legacy\Phoenix\Content\Paks`
- If you don’t have a `~mods` folder yet, create one.
- **Selective installation**:
- If you only want the `Confringo` fix, delete the `QuietusSwift.pak` file inside the `Quietus` folder.
- If you only want the `Swift` fixes, delete the `QuietusConfringo.pak` file.
- The final folder structure should look like this:
`C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Hogwarts Legacy\Phoenix\Content\Paks\~mods\Quietus\QuietusXXX.pak`
**Mod Manager Installation**
Installation using Vortex or another mod manager has not been tested, but may work. If you try it, please report the results.

⚠️ Compatibility Notes
This mod may conflict with other mods that modify sound effects, even if they don't modify the exact same file.

🛠️ Development plan and feedback
- **Next Tweaks**: I'll probably tweak the sounds of the `Diffindo` spell next.
- **Your Voice Matters**: If you think there are other sound effects in the game that need to be adjusted, or if you think the sound effects in this mod are adjusted to be too quiet or are still too loud, please let me know!

**Resources for audio mod developers:**
I've created a community-shared table for finding and recording game audio files: Hogwarts Legacy Audio File Table. You can switch categories through the tabs at the bottom. Feel free to add your findings (add comments or request editing permissions by right-clicking the cell). This table would not have been possible without contributions from Tangerine and NoneTheWwiser.

Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions
- Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
- There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
- Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
- Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.
Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
