Quick Save II
🎮 **Blueprint upgraded version of the classic quick save module! ** This is a faster, more stable quick save solution that doesn't require UE4SS.
✨ Module Introduction
This is a blueprint version of the classic Quick Save mod. The functionality is exactly the same, but this version is written using Blueprints, so it's faster, more stable, and doesn't require UE4SS.
**Main Features:**
- **Default Hotkey**: Use the CTRL key** on the **right side of the keyboard to quickly save (can be customized).
- **Save Mechanism**: When the hotkey is pressed, the current game progress will be saved as a **Manual Save**, and the oldest manual save will be overwritten.
- **Visual feedback**: A confirmation message will be displayed on the screen indicating that the save was successful.
- **Note**: There is currently no way to protect your existing manual saves from being overwritten.

🛠️ Installation Guide
While it is possible to install automatically using Vortex (then skip to step 4 below), Vortex is sometimes unreliable with Hogwarts Legacy mods, so manual installation is recommended:
- **Download the module** and unzip the file.
- Move the `.utoc`, `.ucas` and `.pak` files to the `Steam\steamapps\common\Hogwarts Legacy\Phoenix\Content\Paks\~mods\` folder.
- Install the Blueprint Apparate Modloader if it is not already installed.
- Launch the game and load the most recent save.
- Press the **F8** key to activate the mod loader.
- Type **QuickSave** in the small window and press **Enter**.
- If the word `QuickSave` disappears and reappears below with an **X**, the installation was successful. If it's stuck at the top, the file may be misplaced or there may be a pakchunk conflict.
- Press **F8** again to close the loader window.
**Note**: The above process only needs to be performed once. The module will then take effect automatically.

⌨️ Key bindings
- **Default binding**: `RIGHT-CTRL` = quick save
Custom key bindings
You can change the hotkey to any key you like by following these steps:
- Make sure the module has been installed and the game has been run once (F8 activation step has been performed).
- Enter `%localappdata%\Hogwarts Legacy\Saved\Config\WindowsNoEditor` in the address bar of Windows Explorer and press Enter.
- Locate and edit the `Input.ini` file.
- Search for `QuickSave` and you will find entries similar to the following:
`ActionMappings=(ActionName="QuickSave",bShift=False,bCtrl=False,bAlt=False,bCmd=False,Key=RightControl)`
- Change the value after `Key=` (for example `RightControl`) to the key name you want (refer to the key name list).
- Save the file and restart the game.

⚠️ Known issues and conflicts
Known limitations
- **Unable to assign save slot**: It is currently not possible to assign quick saves to specific slots to protect other manual saves. The game seems to have hardcoded logic for overwriting the oldest manual save.
- **Unable to load quickly**: Trying to implement the function of quickly loading recent archives, but the relevant game nodes did not respond.
- **Manual saving sometimes disabled**: When the game disables manual saving, this mod cannot override this limitation. Code that attempts to trigger a quick autosave is also not responded to by the game.
Potential conflicts
- **Key Conflict**: Another mod by the author, Story Mode Toggler, also uses the `RIGHT_CTRL` key. If you install both mods at the same time, you will need to change the keybindings for one of them.
- **File Conflict**: This mod uses **pakchunk 1031**. Once installed, you can use the PakChunk Checker batch script to check for conflicts with existing mods. If a conflict exists, it can be fixed using the Chunk ID Conflict Manager.

🗑️ Uninstall method
- **Vortex Installation**: Disable or uninstall via Vortex, but then please check if the relevant files in the `~mods` folder ha …
Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions
- Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
- There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
- Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
- Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.
Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
