Mix N' Match Character Clothing Parts Mix and Match Tool
✨ **A powerful Python script that allows you to freely assemble the costume parts in "Hogwarts Legacy" like building blocks! ** This module not only provides a ready-made mashup example, but more importantly, it provides an automated tool to help experienced modders quickly create their own unique clothing modules.
---
🎯 Core Functions
- **Automated mix and match**: Through Python scripts, you can easily combine **tops, bottoms, socks, shoes** and other components of different suits into any target suit.
- **Batch Processing**: Supports the unified application of a certain component source for multiple target sets (such as all women's sets), greatly improving efficiency.
- **Sample Mod**: Comes with a generated mashup module that visually demonstrates the script's effect and demonstrates compatibility with the author's "Silky Pantyhose" module.
- **Flexible Control**: The script provides fine control options, for example, you can choose whether to add parts that are not originally included in the target set.
🛠️ Prerequisites and installation
⚠️ **IMPORTANT NOTE**: To use this Python script to generate the module, you need to have **correctly set up Fmodel and the custom UE project** of "Hogwarts Legacy". This script is mainly intended for users who already have a certain understanding of game module production.
**Example module installation steps**:
- From the author's silky tights module, download the `z_104_silky_sheer_tights_P` file (chunk 104) and **any color file** (chunk 106).
- **Do not download** chunk 105 files (i.e. `z_105_no_sock_overrides_in_outfit_DAs_P`).
- Download and install the `z_105_mix_n_match_outfit_pieces_P` file from this mod.
📝 Script usage guide
The following guide is for users who wish to create their own clothing mods using Python scripts.
**Preparation**:
- Use **Fmodel** to export the clothing data assets (located in `Phoenix/Content/Data/GearAppearances/Outfit`).
- It is recommended to export all clothing icons (located in `Content/UI/Icons/Gear`) at the same time to view the specific clothing corresponding to each number.
**Configuration Script**:
You need to edit the `src_outfits` dictionary in the script to specify your mashup:
- **Key**: The number of the target suit.
- **Value**: A dictionary specifying which source suit number each garment component (e.g. Upper, Lower, Socks, Shoes) comes from.
- **Unspecified parts** will retain the original parts of the target set.
- **Unspecified target number** will not generate a new JSON file.
**Configuration Example**:
```python
Example 1: Replace the top of a size 72 suit with size 100, the bottoms with size 82, the socks with size 51, and the shoes with size 2
src_outfits[72] = {'Upper': 100, 'Lower': 82, 'Socks':51, 'Shoes':2}
Example 2: Wear socks from the No. 51 suit for all women’s suits
for target_idx in all_valid_female_outfits:
src_outfits[target_idx] = {'Socks': 51}
```
**Run and Follow-up**:
- Run the script and it will generate the modified target JSON file in the `Modded` subfolder.
- If you want the custom data assets you generate to be compatible with the author's silky pantyhose module, please be careful not to overwrite the Socks parts with the sock textures and parameters of the original game.
- Import these JSON files into your Unreal Engine project using **Tangerie's JSON2DA tool**.

Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions
- Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
- There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
- Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
- Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.
Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
