- 📂 Try changing the mod location: put it in the `Paks` folder instead of the `~mods` folder.
- 🔤 Try changing the mod priority: rename the file from `z` to `a`.
❓ Frequently Asked Questions and Answers
1. Compatibility and conflict checking
- **Compatible**: All custom face models are compatible with any appearance modification mod that uses a different **Chunk ID** (e.g. skin, skin tone, hairstyle, etc.).
- **Not Compatible**: Any mod that replaces a face of the same number (i.e. **#013**), or modifies the same game assets in any way.
- **Possible Conflict**: Female Player Face Fixes mod.
2. How to check the Chunk ID of a module?
Most mods will state this in the description or file name. You can also use the PakChunk Checker tool to check.
3. Your module uses the same Chunk ID as another module. Can it be fixed?
You can use the Chunk ID Conflict Manager tool to resolve any **Chunk ID** conflicts.
4. Can I change the face number replaced by this module?
**cannot**.
5. Can you make a non-replacement version of the mod?
**cannot**.
6. What is the difference between standard version and stiff version animation? Which should I choose?
- **Standard Edition**: Does not change the character's facial expressions, it is the original design of the game.
- **Stiff version**: For those players who like to reduce facial expression animations (such as smiling, raising eyebrows, etc.).
💡 **Background**: When the game launched, female characters looked different than expected outside of character creation/menus/cutscenes. There have been complaints about characters smiling and grinning excessively during cutscenes and dialogue. These issues were fixed in the March 8, 2023 patch, but some people still prefer the stiff version over the vanilla/standard animations.
7. How to change the appearance of an existing character?
You can use the Character Editor tool (requires Blueprint Apparate Modloader).
8. Problem: My character becomes invisible or glitches during cutscenes.
This is most likely caused by the Curly Hair - Bellatrix Style mod (if you're still using it). Please check for other conflicting mods.
9. How do I make my character look like the one shown in the picture?
See the next section for mod links.

Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions
- Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
- There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
- Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
- Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.
Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
