Hogwarts Visual Overhaul
🎮 **Experience the real Hogwarts! **
The game's graphics themselves are outstanding, no doubt about it. It's probably one of the best-looking games ever made (if you ignore the minor visual bugs). But, it can also look better! After trying out a few mods uploaded by others, combined with further tweaks of my own during playthrough, I ended up with this using essentially the same strategy as my other titles (E3 Visual Overhaul and RDR2 Visual Overhaul).
I've managed to completely neutralize the hideously warm tones that this game covers every scene with. Now the colors look like they should look like at Hogwarts - it's not a warm climate in **Scotland** after all.

- In the browse menu in the lower right corner, select the `.ini` file you just installed.
- Click "Next" twice to install the correct shader.

🌟 Enhanced vision Engine.ini (optional)
In the optional files, I've attached my `Engine.ini` configuration file, which greatly improves the visuals in the game (see slider comparison in the top comment for details). The most obvious improvements include:
- **Better ray traced reflections** (still in testing)
- **Longer draw distance**
- **Better shadow distance/resolution** (still working on how to fix blurry shadows in cutscenes)
- **Force higher object detail level**
- And more optimizations!
This file disables the in-game bloom effect, as the original bloom was too strong in my opinion. Also, the preset itself adds a bit of bloom. The only caveat: disabling bloom in game will affect the visibility of the observatory (so when you want to play the observatory, just change `r.BloomQuality` from `"0"` back to `"5"`).
Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions
- Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
- There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
- Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
- Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.
Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
