While flying, Free View can be enabled via shortcut keys.
freeviewcamera
🚀 This mod adds a custom camera so you can switch to it while flying and freely look around!

✨ Version selection
The module provides two versions, please choose according to your needs:
- **🔘 Press and hold to switch (FreeLookCamHold)**
- **FEATURE**: Enables free view camera and disables character movement when holding shortcut key.
- **Best Partner**: Best used with the **Broom Mouse Control** mod! Please make sure to download the new version updated for Free View Camera Mod compatibility.
- **Controller players/vanilla control fans**: If you don't use the broom mouse control mod, please download the `zBroomFreeLookControls_P` package to enable the new shortcut keys (left Alt key / left shoulder key). All other controls remain stock, and the new keys can be configured in the in-game Keyboard Settings menu (Mounts section).
- **🔘 Switch version (FreeLookCamToggle)**
- **Function**: Switch the free-angle camera on and off through shortcut keys.
- **⚠️ NOTE**: **Not Compatible** with the Broom Mouse Control Mod, for obvious reasons. For the same reason, it is also not compatible with the original controls of the controller.
- **Common to keyboard and gamepad**: Download the `zBroomFreeLookControlsRemap_P` package. It adds new shortcuts for camera switching (Left Alt/Y), and remaps the left and right stick/up and down movements of the left stick and the forward/backward/sprint/acceleration of the trigger and shoulder buttons to release the right stick. Keyboard and mouse controls remain stock, and the new keys can be configured in the in-game Keyboard Settings menu (Mounts section).

🛠️ Installation and use
**Prerequisites**
- Requires **Blueprint Apparate Modloader**.
**Installation steps**
- Unzip the 7z file you downloaded.
- Copy the three module files (pak, ucas, utoc) to the `~mods` folder in your game installation directory:
`[Steam installation path]\steamapps\common\Hogwarts Legacy\Phoenix\Content\Paks\~mods`
- If you use the **Broom Mouse Control** module, please make sure you have updated it to the latest version.
- If you **not use** this module, please choose according to your version, unzip the corresponding control package (`zBroomFreeLookControls_P` or `zBroomFreeLookControlsRemap_P`), and copy the generated pak file to the same `~mods` folder.
**Activate Mod**
- Run the game and load a save file.
- Press **F8** to open the Apparate window.
- Type **FreeLookCamMod** and press Enter.
- FreeLookCamMod should appear in the list. **This operation only needs to be performed once. **
---
⚠️ IMPORTANT NOTE
- **If the new shortcuts or any other controls don't work**, make sure to reset your control settings to default.
- Please note that the game stores your `Input.ini` file in the cloud, so Steam may stubbornly overwrite your changes. If this happens, go offline and reset the controls.
---
🗑️ Uninstall method
Remove all three mod files and corresponding control pak files from the `~mods` folder.

📝 Additional Notes
- 🎮 The mod provides different controller mapping options - this is the best we can do without remapping in-game.
- 🔧 Camera parameters can be adjusted in the future - the feature is still under development.
- 🧪 The use of the new camera is not limited to mounts...you have some room for experimentation...
- 🕹️ The controller button for switching cameras only works while riding a broomstick (or other mount) - if you want to switch while walking, use the keyboard shortcut.

**Author's Message**: Will not leave Hogwarts... More modules are being updated, and there may be new modules coming soon...
Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions
- Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
- There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
- Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
- Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.
Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
