✨ Module Introduction

The classic Free Fly Mod came out shortly after the game was released, but had some issues and was never updated. So I created this new enhanced version!

This mod allows you to fly freely in **almost any outdoor area**, including the rooftop terraces of Hogsmeade and Ravenclaw! It also automatically closes the minimap when you land near Hogsmeade, because if you land with the minimap open, you won't be able to take off again. Additionally, I fixed some HUD display errors when using mounts in Hogsmeade.

**Please note**: You still **cannot fly indoors** as the game unloads all indoor textures when you mount a broomstick or beast. At the same time, many places outside borders or on rooftops are still unlandable because there is no game-defined "navigation mesh" there.

🛠️ Installation Guide

**Manual installation recommended** (Vortex may have unstable support for the "Hogwarts Legacy" module):

• **Download and unzip** the module file.
• Move the following three files to your game Mod folder:
• `zFreeFlyPlus-1010_P.utoc`
• `zFreeFlyPlus-1010_P.ucas`
• `zFreeFlyPlus-1010_P.pak`
• **Destination folder**: `Steam\steamapps\common\Hogwarts Legacy\Phoenix\Content\Paks\~mods\`
• Make sure **Blueprint Apparate Modloader** is installed.
• Start the game and load the save file.
• Press the **`F8`** key to bring up the module loader window.
• Type **`FreeFlyPlus`** and press **`Enter`**.
• If the command is successful, `FreeFlyPlus` will be moved down the list and marked with an **`X`**. If it's stuck at the top, check the file path or use my **PakChunk Checker** to check for conflicts.
• Press **`F8`** again to close the window.

**Tips**: The above steps only need to be performed once, and then the module will automatically take effect!

🗺️ Mini map management

• **Automatic Control**: By default, the minimap will automatically close when entering Hogsmeade and return to its original state when leaving.
• **Manual Switch**: You can press **`ALT + DEL`** at any time to manually switch the minimap on and off.
• **IMPORTANT WARNING**: After manually opening the minimap in Hogsmeade**, you will not be able to take off again** until you leave the area.

⚠️ Known issues and precautions

• **"Unable to enter while riding" prompt**: You may see this prompt, but usually you can still enter, this is a bug in the game itself.
• **Hogsmeade Flying**: The minimap will disappear when flying near Hogsmeade (this is by design). Fly high enough to keep the minimap, but the map will go blank.
• **After Fast Travel**: After fast traveling from Hogsmeade to somewhere else, the minimap may remain closed. Press **`ALT + DEL`** to reopen it.
• **Problems caused by manually switching the map**: If you manually switch the minimap in Hogsmeade, the game may not be able to correctly determine that you have left, resulting in the inability to use mounts outside. Solution: Manually press **`ALT + DEL`** to reopen the minimap, and then close the minimap after the game recognizes that you have left Hogsmeade and can use mounts.
• **Takeoff Failure**: Even after landing in Hogsmeade after closing the minimap, **occasionally** it may not be possible to take off again, for reasons that are not yet clear.
• **Be careful with getting stuck**: It's easy to get stuck in corners when flying inside Hogsmeade. If this happens, you may need to use fast travel to get out.

🔧 Uninstallation and conflict resolution

**Uninstall method**:

• If installed using Vortex, disable or uninstall via Vortex and **be sure to check** whether the relevant files in the `~mods` folder have been deleted.
• Manually delete the `zFreeFlyPlus-1010_P.utoc`, `.ucas` and `.pak` files in the `~mods` folder.
