🌟 Latest update: "Eluvia" (May 2023)

To fix the weird issues with the eyes, eyelashes, eyelids, and teeth, I **remade the entire model** from scratch, with a few tweaks.

My old files and models were too cluttered to be updated due to early learning issues with Blender.

Please check out the changelog and images for details.

😊 Two animation options: Standard or Stiff

  • **Standard Edition**: There are **no changes** to facial expressions and animations, keeping the original meaning of the game.
  • **Stiff version**: **Reduced** facial expression animations (such as smiling, raising eyebrows, etc.).

⚠️ **IMPORTANT**: Please **select only one of the options** to install.

---

📦 Installation method

  • Extract the `.pak`, `.ucas`, `.utoc` files to the following directory:

`SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\Hogwarts Legacy\Phoenix\Content\Paks\~mods`

  • To uninstall the mod, simply delete these files.

🔧 Troubleshooting

If the mod doesn't work, try the following steps:

  • 🔄 If you use Vortex, please try to **manually install** the mod.
  • ✅ Make sure your folder contains **all 3 file types**: `.pak`, `.ucas`, `.utoc`.
  • ⚠️ Check for **conflicting mods**.
  • 📁 Try changing the mods location: put it in the `Paks` folder instead of the `~mods` folder.
  • 🔢 Change mod priority: Rename the file and change the first letter from "z" to "a".

❓ Frequently Asked Questions and Answers

1. How to check compatibility and conflicting mods?

Incompatible mods may cause the game to crash, freeze, or fail to launch.

  • ✅ **Compatible**: All custom face models using different Chunk IDs are usually compatible with mods that modify their appearance (such as skin, makeup, hairstyle, etc.).
  • ❌ **Not Compatible**:
  • Any mod that replaces **the same numbered face (#014)**.
  • Any mod that modifies the same game assets in some way.
  • May conflict with BobG123's Female Player Face Fixes.
  • Not compatible with mods using the same Chunk ID (214)**.

2. How to check the Chunk ID of a module?

Most mods will state this in the description or file name. You can also use the PakChunk Checker tool by iouldifiwantedto.

3. Your module uses the same Chunk ID as other modules. Can it be fixed?

Any Chunk ID conflicts can be resolved using the Chunk ID Conflict Manager by iouldifiwantedto.

4. Can I change the face number replaced by this module?

**Can't**.

5. Can you make this mod a non-replacement version?

**Can't**.

6. What is the difference between standard version and stiff version animation? Which should I choose?

  • **Standard Edition**: The character's facial expression has not changed, it is the original design of the game.
  • **Stiff version**: For those who prefer **reduced expression animation** (fewer smiles, raised eyebrows, etc.).

Early in the game's release, female faces looked different than expected outside of character creation/menus/cutscenes. There is an issue with overly exaggerated expressions during cutscenes and dialogue. These issues were fixed in the March 8, 2023 patch, but some people still prefer the stiff version over the original/standard animations.

7. How to change the appearance of an existing character?

Character Editor by nathdev (requires Narknon's Blueprint Apparate Modloader).

8. Problem: My character becomes invisible or glitches during cutscenes.

If you're still using Kailiana's Curly Hair - Bellatrix Style mod, this is most likely why. Please check for other conflicting mods.

9. How do I make my character look like in the picture? (model in picture)

Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions

  1. Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
  2. There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
  3. Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
  4. Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.

Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
