Collectible Chest Finder
Are you still worried about not finding the last few collectibles? 🤔 Collecting all the collectibles can be a real challenge, but don’t worry! This mod will help you locate the nearest collectible chest and plot a path to get there on the map. Use it over and over again and you'll be able to find every collectible in no time! You can even use the Lore Friendly Apparition module to apparate directly to the treasure chest! (Except areas inside, outside and inside Hogwarts Castle).

🧮Collectible treasure chest statistics
There are a total of 764 treasure chests in "Hogwarts Legacy", 168 of which contain collectibles. The specific distribution is as follows:
- **22** Spell Recipes (Normal)
- **22** Spell Recipes (In Village)
- **25** Spell Recipes (in sub-world)
- **12** Spell Recipes (in the stable)
- **50** Equipment traits (in bandit camp)
- **37** Wand Skins
- **Total: 168**
**However, please note:**
- The game does not allow path tracing in **sub-world** or **pens**, so this mod will not work in these areas.
- **Bandit Camps** are very visible on the map and you probably don't want to deal with them right away, so the main version of the mod has excluded them. But if you want to include them, please download the corresponding version in the "Optional Files" section.
**So, this mod will help you find the remaining 81 "surface" collectible chests! ** 🗺️

🛠️ Installation Guide
It is recommended to follow the steps below to install manually. You can also use Vortex to auto-install (and skip directly to step 4), but be aware that Vortex's support for Hogwarts Legacy mods is sometimes unreliable (it doesn't always remove mods correctly).
- **Download the module**.
- **Unzip the file**.
- **Move Files**: Copy the `.utoc`, `.ucas` and `.pak` files to the `Steam\steamapps\common\Hogwarts Legacy\Phoenix\Content\Paks\~mods\` folder.
- **Install pre-module**: If you haven’t installed it yet, please install Blueprint Apparate Modloader first.
- **Launch the game** and load the most recent save.
- Press the **F8** key to activate the Blueprint Apparate Modloader.
- Enter **MyCollectionChestFinder** in the small window and press **Enter**.
- The word `MyCollectionChestFinder` should disappear and reappear below the window with an **X** next to it. If not (i.e. it's stuck on the top line), then either: a) you put the file in the wrong folder, or b) one of your existing mods already uses pakchunk 1033. You can use my PakChunk Checker to check. If a conflict exists, see the "Conflicts" section below.
- Press **F8** again to close the mod loader window.
**Note:** The above process only needs to be performed once. After that, the module will automatically take effect.

🎮 How to use
- **Deselect** any ongoing tasks.
- Press the **PageUp** key and follow the path.
- If you change your mind and don't want to search for that treasure chest now, you can cancel the search by pressing the **PageDown** key.

⌨️Default key bindings
By default, this mod uses the following key bindings:
- **PageUp** = Find the nearest collectible chest.
- **PageDown** = Cancel search.
- **CTRL + SHIFT + PageUp** = Mark the current search target as "open".
**NOTE:** These bindings are identical to my "Field Guide Page Finder" mod. If you have both mods installed, you will need to change the default bindings to custom bindings (see below).
---
⚙️ Custom key bindings
You can change the key bindings to any key you like by following these steps:
- Download and install the latest version of the mod, launch the game, execute F8 (if you haven't done so already), load a save, and then close the game.
- Enter `%localappdata%\Hogwarts Legacy\Saved\Config\WindowsNoEditor` in the address bar of Windows Explorer and press Enter.
- Left-click `Input.ini`, then right-click and select Edit (or …
Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions
- Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
- There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
- Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
- Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.
Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
