CHR Luminoso Reshade
✨ **Welcome to my second Reshade preset for Hogwarts Legacy! ** This preset is designed to replace in-game ray tracing with a more performance-friendly alternative, giving you ray tracing-like lighting effects. After hours of debugging, now you too can enjoy this lighting without suffering a huge performance hit.
**Please note:** This preset is created with the in-game fog effect turned off in the `Engine.ini` file.

🎨 About Shaders
**Version 2.0**
- **Fixed missing folder issue**, now you don't need to manually put the `solaris` files into the shader folder.
- **Global Illumination** has been reworked, now with more precise depth-based effects and more adjustment options.
*I am currently gaming at 6880x2880 ultrawide resolution with DLSS quality mode. **Frame generation and RTX ray tracing are turned off** for two reasons:
- They seem to have compatibility issues with depth-based shaders.
- The implementation quality of in-game ray tracing is poor.
- Other graphics settings remain the same as before.
**Version 1.0**
- Use **Radiant GI** and **Blooming HDR** for more realistic lighting and bloom effects.
- Use **Focal DOF** to blur distant objects (with the fog effect turned off).
- Use the **Bonus LUT Pack** for color correction and add a small amount of sharpening for a clearer picture.
*Performance penalty is approximately **15%**.

⚙️ My graphics settings reference
- **Resolution:** 5160x2160 (ultrawide)
- **DLSS:** Quality Mode
- **Graphics Settings:** Turn all to high
- **Off options:** Film Grain, Motion Blur, Chromatic Aberration, Depth of Field
- **Ray Tracing:** All options set to on and superelevation (but you can turn it off as the preset's global illumination takes over)
**IMPORTANT:** This preset is optimized for the resolutions and graphics settings listed above. If you're playing at a lower resolution (such as 1080p), you may encounter issues such as over-sharpening, excessive blur, or white lines, which are common manifestations of global illumination at low resolutions.

⚠️ Depth buffer settings (critical step!)
To ensure that depth-based filters (global illumination and focus depth of field) work properly, Reshade's depth buffer must be set correctly:
- Press the `Home` key in the game to open the Reshade interface.
- Click **"Edit global preprocessor definition"**, you may see a series of numbers: `1000, 0, 0, 0`.
- Change the **second** `0` to `1`.

📥 Installation Guide
- **Download Reshade**: Download the latest version from the Reshade official website.
- **Install Shaders**: While installing, click the **"Unselect All"** button twice to install **all** shaders.
- **Place the preset file**: Download and unzip this preset file, and put it into the game's main directory (where the `.exe` file is located).
- **Start the game**: Run the game and press the `Home` key to bring up the Reshade interface (you can skip the tutorial).
- **Select Preset**: Select this preset in the drop-down bar at the top of the interface, and then click **"Select"**.
- **Enjoy the game**! If you like it, don’t forget to like and support! 😊
**💡 Troubleshooting: ** If you see black spots or streaks in the game menu or map, press `Home` to open the Reshade interface, go to the **"Add-ons"** tab, and check an option consisting of long numbers and letters in the depth buffer section (for example: `000000ex000bc45rg`).

Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions
- Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
- There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
- Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
- Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.
Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
