Bug fix for Bird in Hand mission

Fixed the vicious "Bird in Hand" BUG (HL-19013) in the game, which would cause the game process to be unable to continue after defeating the poacher.

🐛 Introduction to the problem

This is a repair patch for the official BUG number **HL-19013** (also known as the "**Bird in Hand**" vicious BUG).

There are two triggering reasons for this BUG. Starting with version 3 of this mod, an attempt will be made to fix both cases.

⚠️ **IMPORTANT NOTE**: This mod does not take effect automatically. You need to hit `ALT-e` at the right moment for this to work. (See the "Instructions for Use" section below for details.)

📦 Installation Guide

It is recommended to follow the steps below to install manually. Of course, you can also try to use Vortex to auto-install (and skip directly to step 4 below), but please note that Vortex's mod support for Hogwarts Legacy is sometimes unreliable (it may not remove mod files correctly).

• **Download the module**.
• **Unzip the file**.
• Move the `.utoc`, `.ucas` and `.pak` files to the following folders:

`Steam\steamapps\common\Hogwarts Legacy\Phoenix\Content\Paks\~mods\`

• If you haven’t installed it yet, please install the Blueprint Apparate Modloader first.
• Launch Hogwarts Legacy.
• Load your most recent save.
• Press the `F8` key to activate the Blueprint Apparate Modloader.
• Type `BirdInHandBugFix` into the small window and press the `Enter` key on your keyboard.
• The word `BirdInHandBugFix` should disappear and then reappear at the bottom of the window with an `X` next to it. If not (if it's stuck on the top line), then either a) you put the file in the wrong folder, or b) one of your existing mods is already occupying pakchunk 1042. You can use my PakChunk Checker to check. If a conflict exists, see the "Conflicts" section below.
• Press `F8` again to close the mod loader window.

**Note**: The above process only needs to be performed once. After that, the mod will work normally.

🎮 Instructions for use

• When the battle with the poacher is over but the game is not progressing, press `ALT-e`.
• The module will try to fix the BUG in the next 10 seconds, up to 20 times.
• If it fails, you will see a message on the screen after 10 seconds, indicating that the BUG fix failed. If this happens, please let me know in the post.
• If successful, you will see a message on the screen stating:
• **Case 1**: The BUG is repaired successfully and the mission will be resumed immediately. Poppy will speak to Dolan and Elric, but since they have left, they will not respond. (There's nothing I can do about it, but once you open the door to the next room, a cutscene will begin and the centaurs will reappear.) Eventually, the next quest prompt will appear. This can take up to 20 seconds, though, so don't panic if it doesn't appear immediately.
• **Case 2**: You need to save and reload the game. If so, please do so. The mission will then move forward. (For some reason, you will be teleported back to the room entrance. If you want to hear what they are saying, run over to the Centaur.)

**PLEASE NOTE**: If the door prompt does not appear within approximately 30 seconds, press `CTRL-ALT-e` to force the door open. **But don't run into the next room right away**. Wait for the yellow quest marker to appear *then* before entering the room. This way, the next cutscene should trigger normally. If you enter too early, you may run right past the trigger point. (If this happens, return to the door and a cutscene should begin.)

• Save the game and uninstall the mod.

🗑️ Uninstall method

**Method 1**: If you installed it via Vortex: Disable or uninstall it via Vortex. **But be sure to check** the `~mods` folder afterwards to see if the relevant files have been deleted.

**Method 2**: Delete the `.utoc`, `.ucas` and `.pak` files directly from the `~mods` folder.
