Better and Immersive Timeskip - Hotkeys and UI

🎮 **A powerful time control module that allows you to freely control the passage of time in "Hogwarts Legacy"! **

Tired of the constant waiting in games? This module will bring you an unprecedented time control experience, combining an intuitive UI and flexible shortcut keys, allowing you to accurately fast forward to dawn, night, or any specified number of hours!

✨ Core Functions

**🎯 Customized time jump (with UI)**

Press **F4** on the keyboard or **Left shoulder key (tool wheel) + D-pad down key** on the handle to open a user interface and freely select the number of hours you want to wait!

**🌙 Jump to night or dawn (similar to the waiting function in the original game)**

Press **ALT+E** in the game to trigger a time jump: if it is daytime, jump to night, if it is night, jump to dawn, and enjoy the beautiful scenery at the same time!

**⏱️ Manually adjust the duration of time jump**

Use the **PLUS (+)** key on your keyboard to increase the number of waiting hours, the **MINUS (-)** key to decrease the number of hours, and the **BACKSPACE** key to start a time jump.

⚙️ Advanced settings and information

**🍵 Tea drinking animation (experimental)**

Set `EnableAnimation` to `true` to trigger the tea drinking animation.

**Note**: There is a bug in the current way of calling animations. If you fast travel after a time jump, it is likely to cause the game to crash. This feature is for visual effects only, please be careful when using it.

**⏩ Time dilation effect**

Setting `TimeDilation` to `true` activates time dilation, with the speed determined by the value in `TimeDilationValues`.

  • **Acceleration effect** (value > 1.0, e.g. 2.0):
  • **Slowing effect** (value < 1.0, e.g. 0.1):

🛠️ Custom settings

All settings can be adjusted by editing the module's `main.lua` file (open with Notepad).

**Default behavior**:

  • Player input is disabled when timeskip is enabled (cannot move/jump etc).
  • Time will accelerate to 2x until the jump ends.
  • Timeskip cannot be activated while fighting, riding a broom, or while mounted.
  • Tea drinking animation is turned off by default.
  • Players are invincible while waiting.
  • UI made by **WinterElfeas** is enabled by default.

**Special Options**:

If `DisableOnBroom` is set to `false`, input will not be disabled while riding a broom or mount (as this would cause a character bug), and time will not be accelerated to 2x (otherwise you will fly everywhere, haha).

⌨️ Modify shortcut keys

**Modify the shortcut key for ImmersiveTimeskip (skip to dawn/night)**

Open the `main.lua` file and find the following sections to modify:

For example, to change the primary shortcut key to the **F** key:

```lua
--Main Hotkey to initiate timeskip to dawn if it's night or to nighttime if it's day
Key1 = Key.F --Change "E" to whatever key you want.
```

If you don't want to use key combinations, set `ModifierKeyIsEnabled` to `false`.

**Modify the shortcut keys for BetterTimeskip (custom duration)**

Open the `main.lua` file and find the following sections to modify:

For example, to change the "Increase Hours" key to the **F** key:

Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions

  1. Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
  2. There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
  3. Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
  4. Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.

Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
