Benchmark Mod 🧪

🎮 **Automatically benchmark Hogwarts Legacy using FrameView! **

---

📋 Prerequisites

  • **NVidia FrameView** (also works with Radeon graphics cards)
  • **Note:** The benchmark hotkey must be set to **Scroll Lock**, and a capture delay of 2-4 seconds is recommended.
  • **UE4SS**

---

🌟 Function Overview

This mod automatically runs predefined test sequences in three selectable locations: **Hogsmeade**, **Hogwarts Central Hall** and **Hogwarts Grounds**.

Each run will automatically complete the following operations:

  • 🧭 Reload player position at floo fire closest to benchmark start point.
  • ⛅ Adjust time and weather settings (storm will be activated midway through outdoor testing).
  • 🙈 Hide player character and HUD, and reposition camera.
  • 📊 Activate FrameView for performance recording.
  • 🚶 Automatically move along a series of coordinate points until reaching the end point.
  • 🛑 Disable FrameView.

---

📥 Installation and usage guide

  • **Install the module**

Extract all files in `BenchmarkMod.zip` to:

`{Game Directory}\Hogwarts Legacy\Phoenix\Binaries\Win64\Mods\BenchmarkMod\`

  • **Configure FrameView**

Open FrameView and double-click `FrameViewToggle.exe`. You should hear an activation tone. Double-click again to deactivate.

*(This usually only needs to be done once, in case Windows blocks the program by default. Alternatively, you can right-click the file > Properties > Unlock.) *

  • **Important: Disable UE4SS console**

**Make sure UE4SS is not running a GUI console! **

Open the `UE4SS-settings.ini` file located in the `{game directory}\Hogwarts Legacy\Phoenix\Binaries\Win64\` folder. Find the `[debug]` section and make sure it is set as follows:

```ini
ConsoleEnabled = 0
GuiConsoleEnabled = 0
GuiConsoleVisible = 0
```

  • **Start the game**

Run the game and load a character save.

  • **Start testing**

Press the **F3** key to start the **Hogsmeade** benchmark.

*(If other mods also use the F3 key, it is recommended to temporarily disable them.)*

  • **Switch test location**

Open the in-game console (by default pressing the **F10** or **`** key).

  • Enter the command `benchmark LOCATION_NAME`, where `LOCATION_NAME` can be one of the following:
  • `Hogsmeade`
  • `Hogwarts_Central_Hall`
  • `Hogwarts_Grounds`
  • Then press **F3** to run the test for that location.

---

🔮 Future Plans

  • ⚡ **Batch Test**: Supports running multiple benchmarks at once (for example, enter `benchmark Hogsmeade 3` in the console to run the Hogsmeade test 3 times).
  • 🪟 **Optimize experience**: Solve the problem of occasional flickering of the console window when switching FrameView.
  • 🏃 **Improved animation**: The current system sets the character speed by slowing down the sprint animation, and we will seek better animation processing solutions in the future.
  • 🔄 **Functional Overrides**: Looking for alternatives to the `SimpleMoveToLocation` function.

Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions

  1. Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
  2. There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
  3. Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
  4. Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.

Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
