**NOTE:** This mod has been ported to the new mod kit.
New project page is located at: - Azkaban
Now available through the in-game mod menu!
✨ Module function
This mod brings the **Law & Consequences** system to Hogwarts Legacy!
- **Crime and Reporting** 🚨: Using any of the three Unforgivable Curses (Avada Kedavra, the Imperius Curse, and Cruciatus) in front of civilians will cause them to report you to the Ministry of Magic.
- **Arrest and Imprisonment** ⚖️: Local law enforcement will attempt to arrest you and transport you to **Azkaban**.
- **SAFETY MECHANISM** 🔒: To prevent mission interruption, **Ominis Gaunt** and **Sebastian Salo** will not report you.
- *This mod does not allow players to attack students or professors. *
💡 **TIP**: Even in Azkaban, you can always load a save from before you encountered law enforcement.
---
⚙️ SQL file processing (important!)
The module contains a SQL file named **`zAzkaban_SQL_P.pak`**.
- **MUST BE MERGED**: If you use other SQL modules, **MUST** merge this file with the other SQL modules.
- **UPDATE NOTE**: When updating this mod, be sure to re-merge your mod if there are new SQL files.
- **Merge Tool**: Use this SQL merge tool (read its description).
- **Identify SQL files**: Many SQL modules do not contain "SQL" in their filenames. An easy way to identify them is that their size is usually around **8.5 MB**.
- **WARNING**: If you have multiple SQL files in your `~mods` folder, the game will only load one of them and the others will be ignored.

🛠️ Custom module settings
You can customize the module behavior by modifying the `Engine.ini` file. Files are usually located at:
`C:\Users\yourusername\AppData\Local\Hogwarts Legacy\Saved\Config\WindowsNoEditor`
Add the following lines at the end of the file (the following are the default values):
```ini
[/Game/AzkabanMod/UI_BP_Azkaban.UI_BP_Azkaban_C]
DelayBeforeAuthSpawning=8.0
NpcDetectRange=2000.0
ExcludedNpc="SebastianSallow"
ExcludedNpc="OminisGaunt"
```
- `DelayBeforeAuthSpawning`: Delay (seconds) before the enforcer appears.
- `NpcDetectRange`: The range within which the NPC detects the spell.
- `ExcludedNpc`: List of NPCs that will not report you (Sebastian and Ominis are excluded by default).
---

Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions
- Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
- There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
- Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
- Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.
Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
