"My mother had a shotgun we called the Chaperone. Kept us alive out there before we got to the City." —Amanda Holliday

The Chaperone, a shotgun designed by Tex Mechanica, a company with emphasis on weapons of the old west. The gun is designed to fire slug shotgun shells with startling accuracy.

Third weapon mod, this time a lever action shotgun involving a few ad-hoc scripts to make it Destiny! This thing was interesting to make work, and it was fun to demo breaching doors with. For all you Destiny 2 fans out there, the Chaperone has had its slug shotgun functionality ported, however to prevent ammo conflicts, it can be loaded with other shells too.

Features

  • The Chaperone is found in the Lever Action Shotgun section of the item spawner, has a 6 shell tube with an extra shell in the chamber, and is chambered in 12x70mm guage. The chamber shell is able to be manually loaded.
  • Designed for slug shotgun shells, spawnable from the new item spawner. Old item spawner users will need to use the ammo panel (This cannot be worked around)
  • A non-removable reflex sight with two reticles, a working ejection port, and the ability to spin the gun
  • As much models and textures I can rip for the gun. Missing audio assets have been replaced with stock ones until proper ones are obtained.
  • A tube-fed lever action allowing reloads without needing the lever to be pulled back

Planned

  • Making the loading gate function properly
  • Possible revisit of textures and reticle if scripts and/or Unity experience permits
  • Slightly updated item spawner icon if I can obtain a high quality Forsaken logo in white
  • The addition of the Destiny 2 lore text as an Infographic if the new item spawner ever supports such a feature
  • Proper audio files if a Destiny 2 ripper can be obtained

Changelog

1.0.1

  • I think I uploaded an old version and it didn't have the chamber load, whoops

1.0.0

  • Initial release

Install & use Install: BepInEx plugin

  1. The archive from playbuff is the mod itself — usually a BepInEx plugin (a .dll or a plugin folder once unzipped).
  2. Recommended: use a community mod manager (such as r2modman) — pick this game, import the mod, and the manager sets up BepInEx and its dependencies for you.
  3. Manual route: install the BepInEx loader in the game folder, then drop the unzipped .dll or plugin folder into BepInEx/plugins/.
  4. Launch the game — the BepInEx console logs every plugin it loads; seeing this mod in the log means it is installed.

Mods with listed dependencies need those installed too, or they will not load. Options are usually changed in-game or in the plugin's config file.
