MXR-17 Battle Rifle
I keep calling it the Rampart it just rolls of the tongue. MXR-17 makes me think MX9 but this wasn't made by Kuhn and Schmidt?! Greaves? Who's Greaves??
I like lore on weapons, maybe a little too much, cuz I'd like to keep tabs on these things, these decals allow me to look into the world the devs envisioned. Seeing the connections snipped off crossing from BO4 to BO7 is, well, annoying to me. Then in comes the Maddox with near 90% accuracy and, damn, now I'm even more annoyed they didn't do the same justice for this rifle.
Otherwise, this weapon otherwise performs the same as the BO4 counterpart, prioritizing damage over ROF, rewarding those who could aim well. I have had a wonderful time with the headshot barrel on this gun, two shot kills galore, makes for a powerhouse and lotsa feeds. Yep, that feels like a Rampart alright.

Updates
v1.1.0 -- New Magazines added, meta data fixes
V1.1.1 -- Drum sfx fixes, oscillating bullets turned off. Will look into making the Rampart-17 compatible with these magazines soon.
V1.1.2 -- 40 rounder and 10 rounder were still bad on their bullet viz, so I made sure to fix it properly this time.
v1.2.0 -- ANVL Update. Included the ANVL-17 LMG and its big ol' 100 rounder drum.
Using the firearm heating script to make a fast rof scale down to a slow crawl, it isn't Arcade like the HAMR or the exact like the BO7 version, just a simplified version.
I did try making complex versions but I couldn't figure out the advanced heating curve nor could I get Arpy's player trigger script to reset the heating back to 0 after firing. I do remember Contractor$ being able to imitate that effect.
I feel dumb not being able to get a better version of this archetype.
Install & use Install: BepInEx plugin
- The archive from playbuff is the mod itself — usually a BepInEx plugin (a .dll or a plugin folder once unzipped).
- Recommended: use a community mod manager (such as r2modman) — pick this game, import the mod, and the manager sets up BepInEx and its dependencies for you.
- Manual route: install the BepInEx loader in the game folder, then drop the unzipped .dll or plugin folder into BepInEx/plugins/.
- Launch the game — the BepInEx console logs every plugin it loads; seeing this mod in the log means it is installed.
Mods with listed dependencies need those installed too, or they will not load. Options are usually changed in-game or in the plugin's config file.
Install these first, or the mod will not work:
