MACV Sosig
LZ's hot wiener, and VC doesn't take too kindly to SOSIGers!
MACV Sosig is a Take n' Hold character making use of the diverse equipment used in the Indochina/Vietnam conflicts. This is done via allowing you to take the role of a MACV-SOSIG operator and either purchasing Southern equipment directly or “tactically requisitioning” Northern gear from the local wieners.
Equipment Spawns
As a freshly deployed SOSIGer, a simple survival rifle or pistol, along with a melee, has been deemed suitable considering your capabilities. However, if things take a turn for the worst, weaponry is available, either purchased directly from an Equipment Spawner or procured from the local Viet Chả you're likely to run into.
Faction-Based Equipment Pools
If you do decide to purchase munitions, four factions are more than willing to supply you, each of which consists of the ANZAC, the ARVN, the US, and MACV-SOSIG themselves.
Balancing
- Viet Chả will, from time to time, drop some of their issued gear, ranging from bayonets to full-fledged light machine guns
- Semi-automatics and fully automatics are much easier to acquire earlier than in Hue Cha Minh
- Endless and Limited Ammo modes have been fully balanced, with an emphasis on difficulty
- Loot pool prices have been drastically increased to encourage purchasing low-capacity weapons to save up for high-capacity, large-caliber firearms
- Multiple encryption types can be encountered simultaneously during holds, with later holds emphasizing belt-feds with swarm, agile, and regenerative encryptions
- Sosig load-outs and their clothing choices have been tweaked to represent real-world Viet Cong, Pathet Lao, etc., as best as possible, given the limited vanilla options to choose from
- Anti-Tank Sosigs, armed with rocket launchers, become much more prominent during late-game and can pose a serious threat

Install & use Install: BepInEx plugin
- The archive from playbuff is the mod itself — usually a BepInEx plugin (a .dll or a plugin folder once unzipped).
- Recommended: use a community mod manager (such as r2modman) — pick this game, import the mod, and the manager sets up BepInEx and its dependencies for you.
- Manual route: install the BepInEx loader in the game folder, then drop the unzipped .dll or plugin folder into BepInEx/plugins/.
- Launch the game — the BepInEx console logs every plugin it loads; seeing this mod in the log means it is installed.
Mods with listed dependencies need those installed too, or they will not load. Options are usually changed in-game or in the plugin's config file.
Install these first, or the mod will not work:
