Bren Variants
Variants of the Bren LMG
About this mod Author’s original text
The Bren Gun, famously used by the British in WWII, was still used long after the war ended by various countries. These adaptations typically included several modernizations and caliber changes.
The Bren 8mm Export was built in Canada for use by the Chinese Nationalists during WWII. It is chambered in 8mm Mauser and is cross-compatible with ZB Vz.26 Magazines.
The L4A4 is a post-war variant chambered in 7.62x51mm NATO and uses FAL magazines. It was used all the way through the Falklands war by the SAS even after the rest of the British army switched to the FN MAG.
The Bren AKM Conversion was built by the Chinese to convert captured Bren guns to use AKM mags. The magwell is slightly smaller to accomodate the new magazines.

Install & use Install: BepInEx plugin
- The archive from playbuff is the mod itself — usually a BepInEx plugin (a .dll or a plugin folder once unzipped).
- Recommended: use a community mod manager (such as r2modman) — pick this game, import the mod, and the manager sets up BepInEx and its dependencies for you.
- Manual route: install the BepInEx loader in the game folder, then drop the unzipped .dll or plugin folder into BepInEx/plugins/.
- Launch the game — the BepInEx console logs every plugin it loads; seeing this mod in the log means it is installed.
Mods with listed dependencies need those installed too, or they will not load. Options are usually changed in-game or in the plugin's config file.
Install these first, or the mod will not work:
