Shack's Custom Witness Mod
A mod for playing your favorite characters!
Shack's Custom Witness Mod aims to add a new level of improv by adding both real and imagined characters as witnesses to the game!
This mod is HEAVILY inspired by the incredible Lethal Company mod More Suits by x753, if you play Lethal Company, make sure to check it out!
This mod works by adding named.png files to the customwitnesses folder included in the download. The mod includes a few default folders and characters which can be disabled in the config.
To install, simply install BepInEx, then drag and drop the contents of the BepInEx\plugins found in the downloaded.zip file into the BepInEx\plugins folder of your game directory.
I hope you enjoy the mod! My friends and I have had a great time testing it out. I plan on adding more included witnesses soon, but of course you may add as many as you like.
NOTE: All players MUST have the same witnesses named exactly the same and in the same folders, I recommend one player collecting all the witness.pngs the group desires, then distributing it to the others prior to playing.
Let me know if you encounter any issues! This is my first mod so I expect some issues may be found my friends and I havent yet encountered, I will try to patch them as I am able to. Thank you!
Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions
- Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
- Most mods rely on the game's mod loader — the usual route is a community mod manager (such as r2modman): pick this game, install, and it handles the loader and dependencies.
- For a manual install, put the mod files into the matching Mod / plugins folder inside the game directory.
- Launch the game to confirm it loaded; mods with listed dependencies need those installed as well.
Install locations vary a lot between mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
