About this mod Author’s original text

Crimson Dragon Skins

gold & dragon stuff on a bunch of guns. also there's a glowy line on each one, you can change the color/brightness or turn it off (see below)

needs the Skins mod

guns

  • Köning PR 11 (sniper) - cyan glow
  • Shelling Arid 5 (hi-cal pistol) - amber
  • Buckland SBS III (sawed off) - warm white
  • Drekker Pres MOD 556 (AR) - green
  • Omneco EXP1 (HEL gun) - purple
  • Van Auken LTC5 (smg) - pink
  • Drekker DEL P1 (precision rifle) - orange
  • Santonian HDH (sledgehammer) - light blue

how to use

lobby -> equip the gun -> click the Skins button -> double click the Crimson Dragon one. done

glow settings

r2modman -> Config editor -> sourmonkis.crimsondragonskins.cfg

  • Enabled - glow on/off
  • Brightness - 0.6 by default. 1 is pretty bright, dont go too high unless you want to go blind lol, I usually set it on 0.1/0.2
  • Glow Colours - hex color per gun, like #FF0000

changes apply next time you start the game, or just hit Settings -> Reload Skins in game

other stuff

  • works on modded rundowns too: if a rundown adds a gun made from the same parts (like a variant of the sniper) the skin shows up for it automatically. if a rundown reuses a vanilla id for a different gun, the skin wont show there so it doesnt look broken. can turn this off in the config (Auto-match modded weapons)
  • want a skin on some other gun anyway? in the Skins menu switch to "All skins" and hit "Mark as compatible" (thats a Skins mod feature)
  • textures are made from the game's own ones using AI
  • if something's broken check BepInEx/LogOutput.log

thanks food for the Skins mod. made with some help from Claude Code

Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions

  1. Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
  2. Most mods rely on the game's mod loader — the usual route is a community mod manager (such as r2modman): pick this game, install, and it handles the loader and dependencies.
  3. For a manual install, put the mod files into the matching Mod / plugins folder inside the game directory.
  4. Launch the game to confirm it loaded; mods with listed dependencies need those installed as well.

Install locations vary a lot between mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
