What's this

XMenu is an ASI menu for GTA III, GTA Vice City, and GTA San Andreas. It aims to be simple to install, intuitive in function, and share the same user experience across the three terminals.

It is not a large integration pack, nor does it replace the main game program. After placing the file in the game directory, load it through ASI Loader and use it.

Function Overview

| Module | Function |

| --- | --- |

| Player | HP, armor, money, wanted level, invincibility, infinite running, status switch |

| Vehicles | Generate vehicles, repair vehicles, speed control, doors, damage, vehicle status |

| Weapons | Obtain weapons, ammunition, common weapon operations |

| World | Time, weather, game speed, environment control |

| Transmission | Select locations by city/region, support three-terminal independent data |

| Pedestrian | Pedestrian related functions and data list |

| Scene | Animation, particles, cutscene related functions; currently mainly for San Andreas |

| Vision | Vision/weather related options, supports III/VC/SA |

| Shortcut keys | Menu shortcut keys, action shortcut keys, Overlay, command window |

| Settings | Chinese, English, Japanese, Russian, localization switching takes effect immediately |

Support games

| Game | Rendering Link | Description |

| --- | --- | --- |

| GTA III | D3D8to9 + D3D9 | Native D3D8, requires D3D8to9 to undertake menu rendering |

| GTA Vice City | D3D8to9 + D3D9 | Native D3D8, requires D3D8to9 to undertake menu rendering |

| GTA San Andreas | D3D9 | Natively works with current D3D9 menu links |

Running dependencies

  • DirectX End-User Runtime
  • Visual C++ Redistributable 2022 x86
  • Ultimate ASI Loader
  • SilentPatch (recommended; optional for GTA III)
  • D3D8to9 (only required for GTA III / Vice City)

Install

  • Install the above running dependencies.
  • Place `XMenu.asi` into the game root directory.
  • Place the `XMenu` folder into the game root directory.
  • GTA III / Vice City additionally inserts `d3d8.dll` of D3D8to9.
  • Start the game and press `M` to open the menu.

Recommended directory structure:

```text
GameRoot/
├─ XMenu.asi
├─ XMenu/
│ ├─ XMenuSA.dll
│ ├─ XMenuVC.dll
│ ├─ XMenuIII.dll
│ ├─ data/
│ │ ├─ sa/
│ │ ├─ vc/
│ │ ├─ iii/
│ │ └─ i18n/
│ └─ i18n/ # Compatible with old paths, optional
└─ d3d8.dll # Only required for GTA III / Vice City
```

After running, it will be generated in the game directory:

```text
XMenu/config.json
XMenu/debug.log
```

How to add new languages

The current language files for XMenu are located at:

```text
XMenu/data/i18n//
```

The corresponding directory in the source code is:

```text
src/data/i18n//
```

Example of adding a new language: Suppose you want to add Korean `ko`.

  • Copy an existing language directory, for example:

```text
src/data/i18n/en/ -> src/data/i18n/ko/
```

  • Modify `src/data/i18n/ko/index.json`.

Confirmation is usually required:

```json
{
"name": "한국어",
"files": [
"common.json",
"player.json",
"vehicle.json",
"weapon.json",
"world.json",
"teleport.json",
"ped.json",
"scene.json",
"visual.json",
"actions.json",
"settings.json",
"update.json",
"about.json",
"scene_visual_data.json"
]
}
```

  • Translate each JSON file in the `ko` directory.

Only change the text on the right, not the key on the left:

```json
{
"tab.player": "Player"
}
```

It should be changed to:

```json
{
"tab.player": "플레이어"
}
```

Do not change it to:

```json
{
"탭.플레이어": "플레이어"
}
```

  • Rebuild or move the language directory to the running directory.

Development environment build:

```bat
Build.bat Release --no-pause
```

Player local language temporarily added:

```text
GameRoot/XMenu/data/i18n/ko/
```

Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions

  1. Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
  2. There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
  3. Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
  4. Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.

Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
