Toggable DLC Maps Example
I decided to release these sample files for the map modification community, so map modifiers as well as the community can take advantage of this functionality.
[Purpose]
The purpose of this is to allow map developers to make their maps switchable like North Yankton. In other words, the map will not be loaded on startup. It can be enabled via script. This will have many advantages.
- One can maintain the original atmosphere of LS when the map is not in use.
- Places with missing faces don't look pretty when you see them from far away.
- Two different maps can occupy the same space. So if two map developers use the same area to place their maps, users can easily switch between them without reloading the game.
- Maps can be placed at the location of the mission. You can turn it off if needed.
I've included examples of switchable ymaps. I did this for most of the DLC maps released as of May 15, 2017. These samples are for the latest versions of the following DLC Map Mods as of March 12, 2017. If you wish to switch these map modes to toggle, you can install my file.
-Hyrule
-Lake Louise (The developers need to move this map so it doesn't interfere with LS. I don't know how the game will handle making regular ymaps switch.)
- end point
-North Yankton DLC
Stade Orange Vélodrome Marseille (football stadium)
Currently, you need to use Menyoo to switch maps. You can also use it to teleport and teleport them while you're loading it.
In the future I will write a script that will manage additions to the map and allow you to travel to and from them via the airport. It also has other features such as controlling wave height or weather. It will manage the map in an immersive way.
Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions
- Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
- There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
- Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
- Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.
Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
