The Kiev is a heavy-lift cruiser-carrying aircraft[2] that was in service with the Soviet and Russian navies from 1975 to 1993. It was built at the Chernomorski plant in Mikleviv from 1970 to 1975 and was the first ship of its class (Project 1143 Krechyet - Gyrfalcon - Kiev class).
